Oh, sure...there are a lot that believe it. Trouble is, they start shooting and the police will be all over their asses shooting back.
 
I will confess that after a considerable period of time expecting the SCROTUS to make Trump President for Life, I'm cautiously optimistic that they well not. But that's down more to the incompetence of Trump's attorneys than to the SCROTUS.

We've got about 4.5 weeks left. Trump's not going to get any saner during that period.

Yeah there's zero chance those documents aren't already destroyed. I have zero illusions that the Trump Administration isn't trying to wipe the slate clean as much as possible.

But it would still be a clearly illegal order and would be widely disobeyed. Situation is not quite the same. What Bork did, however crappy, was not illegal. The officials he fired served at the President's pleasure.Totally different wiwth the military.

"Martial law" basically means that the military takes control, and in the US it is accompanied by suspension of habeas corpus rights. Basically, the military is in charge and they can lock up anyone they like without having to give a reason for doing it.

Invoking martial law for the purposes of re-running an election or for refusing to surrender the symbols of authority, i.e. refusing to leave the White House, or refusing to acknowledge the authority of the new President would be illegal, and the new President could have Trump arrested.

In which case, the winner is the one with the most guns. Democracy only exists so long as the leaders abide by the law.

The president also cannot invoke martial law for any old reason. He has to declare why he is doing it, and if it doesn't fall within the reasons enumerated, it's a crime. He could be impeached and removed from office.....by anyone who has enough guns.

And I think that Trump would command very few guns. I think he would give the order and the response would be that that is an illegal order and it will not be followed, or possibly result in an immediate arrest. It depends on what the people holding the guns say.

I also think that even Trump isn't crazy enough to try it, but I've been surprised before.

We were going to release all the evidence in a special press conference today, but someone broke into the office last night and stole it. I’m not going to point fingers but many people are saying that it was the FBI acting on Biden’s orders. That, of course, makes sense because you all know that they have done a lot of stuff to help the Democrats. “

That's my understanding too, I'm just pointing out that the only relevant documents the Trump administration have are their ludicrous court filings, which are already part of the public record. And which, let's face it, are all Dominion need.

Yes, because if anything, we should trust the party that was A-OK with Russia interfering in the 2016 election, regularly engages in voter suppression, gave a free pass to Trump when when he tried to blackmail Ukraine into fabricating a Biden scandal, and contains more members who have caught Covid19 than have publically accepted Biden's victory.

I mean, just because they have failed to stand up against trump and have shown a lack of integrity every time, I am sure THIS time it will be different.
