For those of you who still haven't heard, after Trump's @SpaceForceDoD decided to adopt the Star Trek Starfleet Command logo, now, workers in Space Force will be known as #GUARDIANS of the galaxy. You can't make this stuff up.

If the money is funneling to Trump then he and Kushner are likely violating the law. A pardon can't be applied to a continuing criminal enterprise. Trump could pardon Kushner and maybe himself but if the crime keeps going, he could still be charged for the crimes happening after he left office. If the crime happened in New York he could have issues there as well. New York financial laws are really tough.

What you say sounds correct.

Of course, once one tells Trump that he cannot do something, he feels compelled to do it. And obviously once the feds start investigating Kushner for crimes committed after the pardon date, team Trump will cry and whine and yell about how persecuted they are and the Always Trumpers will support the crying and whining.
 
I forgot if it's been answered somewhere -- but is it even possible to get a pre-emptive pardon? I thought it was only good for an actual conviction and admission of guilt. And even then, only for something specific, not a general "I pardon thee absolutely of all crimes thus far committed."

You can't be pardoned for crimes you may commit in the future, a pardon doesn't necessarily imply guilt although it's usually taken as such and pardons have been refused for that reason, and the president absolutely can pardon people for a vague "anything they might have done".

As has been explained before, Richard Nixon got exactly that from Gerald Ford, covering any and all crimes he may have committed while in office.

General, yes, preemptive no. Trump cannot give out get out of jail free cards for the future no matter what they do. That would mean they could break any federal laws they please until they die.
