Cont: Trump et al continued “2020 election” conspiracy theories

Defeated Donald Trump calls for the arrests of government officials who won't break the law for him. Again.
In the middle of a barrage of tweets amplifying his message that the election was stolen from him, President Trump on Tuesday retweeted Georgia attorney Lin Wood’s suggestion that the president will soon prosecute Georgia Gov. Brian Kemp and Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger — both Republicans — for refusing to overturn the results in their state.

“President Trump @realDonaldTrump is a genuinely good man,” Wood wrote. “He does not really like to fire people. I bet he dislikes putting people in jail, especially ‘Republicans.’ He gave @BrianKempGA & @GaSecofState every chance to get it right. They refused. They will soon be going to jail.”

The tweet included photos of Kemp and Raffensperger doctored to show them wearing face masks emblazoned with China’s flag.

Since the race was called for President-elect Joe Biden, Trump and his allies, including Wood, have made dozens of baseless claims of coordinated voter fraud in Georgia and other states that voted for Biden. Trump and his legal team have lost virtually every single court challenge — numbering more than 50 — and the Electoral College cast votes Monday confirming Biden’s victory.

Diaper Don needs his binkey; maybe Ivanka can sit on his lap, again. Maybe move around a little.

I have to wonder why he did this. I don't think his silence was really costing him anything. He never said Trump won, and he never said Trump lost.

The obvious answer would be if polling data or just a sense of the electorate was that people were tired of the Trump Show, and wanted to move on, and that he feared there might be electoral repercussions down the line. However, that hadn't stopped him before, and I don't think the electoral vote of yesterday was that big of a deal.

Bigger, probably, was the Supreme Court decision not to take the case. It signalled that they weren't going to be a pushover for Trump. The only chance he ever had was if somehow five justices just decided to ignore their duties and/or reality and declare Trump the winner. When they wouldn't even take the Texas case, it signaled that door was shut.

I have to wonder if Bill Barr's resignation influenced McConnell or any other Republicans to decide that the cost of this pretense was too high to go along with.

It is sort of odd, but maybe it's just a moment of clarity. I don't know if he intends to run again after his term expires next year, but I'm thinking not as he doesn't appear to be a spry 78; one more fall and his time in a rehab facility may be permanent.

McConnell was elected this year, I'm pretty sure. He'll be 84 when his next term ends.

It's hard to say which thread is the continuation of the old election thread, but it might be this one. In that thread, I made an avatar bet with Skeptic Tank related to the election outcome. Here's a link if anyone wants more details:

At any rate, I would like to welcome President-elect Joe Biden and Vice-President-elect Kamala Harris to Skeptic Tank's avatar for the next 90 days.

Oh Bubba, even the Turtle admits it's ovah!

Steam - Na Na Hey Hey Kiss Him Goodbye

Kiss Trump goodbye Bubba, he gone! Ovah!

And while you're at it, the troll pretending to be Q, too; you've been gulled enough.

It’s disgraceful how he has been treated. Trump needs to start a new party and run against all these corrupt Republicans. Starting with the run-off elections, where surely enough people will write him in.

Residency requirements are a socialist plot!

BTW, there's a place called Lynnwood in my state. It's a dump, consisting of one huge mall and a multitude of strip malls.

I would have liked to see a big pic of Biden and Harris on top of a tiny tank, but it is what it is.

That's actually a bit closer to what I drew. ST modified it a bit, which I allowed, to make it more aesthetically pleasing, which it is.

I don't do art very well, and my version looked kind of bad.

ETA: And my link didn't actually link to the post where the bet was made. I wanted to quote, but it was a closed thread.

This link is better, but it just links to a post where Skeptic Tank predicted Trump would still be in office in a year, and me challenging to the bet.

By the way, we know that in some swing states yesterday, some clown got together and submitted groups of "alternate electors" voting for Trump.

I don't suppose there was anyplace that published those names? Who were these people? Electors are usually state officials or prominent party officials. Was that the case for these alternates? Or did they just go into an illegally open bar in western Michigan, and ask the first 16 people they encountered who weren't wearing masks?

If they were public figures or state party functionaries, I think they should get the credit they deserve for participating in this scheme.

The only think I can think of is that Republicans hate it because

a. it allows more people to vote, leading to higher turnout, and
b. early, mail-in and absentee votes tend to favour Democrats

Both of which would make it less likely that Republicans would win.

Bingo!! Generally speaking, the more voters the more Democratic votes.

Hey Bubba, is this one of your homies?
HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) -- A former Houston Police Department Captain was arrested and charged for running a man off the road and pointing a gun at his head in an attempt to prove claims of a massive voter fraud scheme in Harris County, according to a news release from the Harris County's DA's office.

Mark Anthony Aguirre, 63, was arrested by Houston police Tuesday and charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, a second-degree felony punishable by up to 20 years in prison.

"He crossed the line from dirty politics to commission of a violent crime, and we are lucky no one was killed," Harris County District Attorney Kim Ogg said. "His alleged investigation was backward from the start - first alleging a crime had occurred and then trying to prove it happened."

According to court documents, Aguirre told police that he was part of a group of private citizens called the "Liberty Center," who were conducting a civilian investigation into the alleged ballot scheme.

According to Aguirre, he had been conducting surveillance for four days on a man who was allegedly the mastermind of a giant voter fraud scheme. Aguirre told authorities the man was hiding 750,000 fraudulent ballots in a truck he was driving.

Instead, the victim turned out to be an innocent air conditioner repairman, court documents said.

Aguirre allegedly never told police that he had been paid a total of $266,400 by the Houston-based Liberty Center for God and Country, with $211,400 of that amount being deposited into his account the day after the incident.

This is BIG NEWS. Dominion Voting Machines are a disaster all over the Country. Changed the results of a landslide election. Can’t let this happen. Thank you for the genius, bravery, and patriotism of the Judge. Should get a medal!

The Michigan Attorney General has responded Some snippets:

Attorney General Dana Nessel and Secretary of State Jocelyn Benson, in an Antrim County court hearing today, did not object to the public release of a report on Dominion software from the partisan organization Allied Security Operations Group (ASOG), in order to demonstrate the “report” is actually another in a long stream of misguided, vague and dubious assertions designed to erode public confidence in the November presidential election.

Let’s be clear: Michigan’s Nov. 3 general election was the most secure in our state's history,” said Secretary Benson upon the release of the report.

ASOG authored the “preliminary forensic audit,” which was made public by the judge today. The group, however, has no apparent expertise in election administration and technology. Their work is limited to the previous release and amplification of other false information and fake documents. As expected, the plaintiff’s most recent report on Antrim County is similarly critically flawed, filled with dramatic conclusions without any evidence to support them.

The qualifications of those who authored the report are suspect, with no evidence or credentials provided to back up their “expertise.” Authors in the report also make unverified and unsupported claims that “fraud,” “intentional errors” and “bad faith” decisions made by election officials led them to their conclusions in the report. Moreover, many of their assertions are unsupported by evidence, with some even constituting hearsay and clearly show that the authors lack first-hand knowledge of events.

In other words, a report that Bubba could hang his hat on. :)

Speaking of Michigan, this looks promising.

Detroit Is Trying to Get Sidney Powell Fined, Banned from Court, and Referred to the Bar for Filing the ‘Kraken’ [lawandcrime.com]
The City of Detroit wants Sidney Powell and her self-styled “Kraken” team to face sanctions for “frivolously undermining ‘People’s faith in the democratic process and their trust in our government.'”

The Motor City’s motion asks a federal judge to fine the lawyers, ban them from practicing in the Eastern District in Michigan and refer them to the Wolverine State’s bar for grievance proceedings.

“It’s time for this nonsense to end,” Detroit’s lawyer David Fink told Law&Crime in a phone interview.

And you see, this is going to be an ongoing problem for this clown show, because everyone who DOES have the necessary qualifications knows this crap is not true, and is simply not going to tell them what they want to hear.

In case your sources forgot to tell you....
