With a minute: did a repub just utter the words “corporate welfare”? As some of our friends across the pond would say: someone’s having me on.

Mmm, I wonder if the GOP will support him in that. Once bitten, twice shy, I think. Some individuals will, but his gift for sowing division might well hit himself. With some luck 2024 will see three parties competing: Trump party, GOP, and Dems. In such a case, I expect the Dems should be able to prevail, if they try really hard. :rolleyes:

Trump as outcast would be nice to see. But I suspect after a few months of serious pushback, he'd bail and launch Trump/Newsmax/OANN TV.
Timing would depend on the flow of griftable donations.

Don't be so sure.

Although Biden managed to flip Georgia, the state election result was fairly tight (less than 1% difference), and there are still a lot of supporters of Stubby McBonespurs in the southern states. A unified republican front would probably be harder for the democrats to overcome than one where Trump has taken to having a temper tantrum, leaving Georgia republicans on their own.

What you say sounds accurate to me. But we are still left with the question “Will Trump be able to not have a temper tantrum while holding a rally in Georgia?”

After all, we can see where this whole ****** show is going by just looking at Trump’s description. “[I’m] going to Georgia for a big Trump Rally in support of our two great Republican Senators, David and Kelly.” It is not a rally for the Republican candidates, it is a “big Trump Rally.”

It’s “social” that’s bad. “Corporate welfare” is something your employer can threaten you with being taken away if you lose your job.
