My guess is this is PR or it's simply the process in Georgia. Raffensperger is getting national attention for what we normally view as a rote exercise. He might be milking that a little. They are likely preparing a very well thought out statement that thoroughly explains why the results are accurate. SoS Raffensperger has said many times that Biden definitively won. I haven't seen a moment's hesitation on his part. I would bet you 50K that Georgia will certify the election for Biden before the deadline which is today.

My guess is that it's an error. The earlier notification was sent out due to miscommunication. It's a bad year for a simple mistake like that, but it happens.

That's not true. Nothing is on hold. The office of the Secretary of State sent out a press release saying Secretary of State Raffensperger "will certify" the results Friday which is the day by law that Georgia is supposed to certify the election. Raffensperger has also made it clear that he will enforce the will of the people.

Houston Chronicle reports that the Georgia results *have been* certified; Biden won.

True. I've seen Raffensperger speak multiple times. He hasn't wavered in any way that Biden won the election. He said that numbers don't lie. And the numbers show that Biden won. I'm guessing certifying an election requires a full report. And like pretty much everyone, they will take every minute right up until the deadline.

3. Most importantly, Georgia just completed a one by one hand count of all the ballots in the State And the hand count led to basically the same result as the Dominion tabulators. What differences there were was the result of human errors.

I don't and can't know the unknowable. But the default position is to disbelieve until a claim is proven.
That's a fundamental tenet in skepticism. Also a skeptic must weigh the evidence available to them. When someone makes an extraordinary claim, it requires extraordinary evidence. We've only heard the promise of evidence.

But we do have evidence.

1. Sydney Powell has only made wild claims to venues where she isn't accountable.
2. Not once has she walked into a courtroom where under penalty of law required to tell the truth has she made this wild claim. Powell had an opportunity on Tuesday when she was in court and she didn't. In fact, her co-counsel during questioning from the judge said that this isn't a fraud case.
3. Saying that she will sometime in the future put it before a court of law is not the same as doing it. Time is running out.
4. Finally, there is the indisputable fact that the hand recount of more than 5 million votes in Georgia eviscerates her wild claim.

Skepticism isn't reserving judgment indefinitely. Especially when a lot of contradictory evidence is staring us in the face. I personally am inclined to think someone is conning me when they delay, delay, delay on providing supporting evidence. Tucker Carlson has even rejected this woman's bs after not providing any evidence.

My vague, non-lawyerly impression of the process is that certification is a crucial door to pass through. Once it happens, options get really limited. For instance, any reason a legislature might rely on to appoint electors directly becomes fantastic once the results are certified. Especially after an audit.

This is why I can't wait until Monday, when PA and MI certify. It's not **ever** done until it's done. That's not to say it's a 50/50 proposition, but it's not done until it's done. When I wake up at night, the end of American democracy is front and center with me.
