Allegations of Fraud in 2020 US Election

There were 138 precincts in Wayne County. The poll books count of how many voted didn't match the number counted. The variance ranged from 1-4 votes.

In 70% of the precincts. There were similar discrepancies in the August primaries in 72% of precincts. 71% in the 2016 election (you know, when Trump won Michigan).

They did an audit of the 2016 discrepancies in February 2017 that greatly reduced the number of discrepancies. They would likely do a similar audit for this election. It would be easier to do it later rather than while other election activities are taking place.

This is really just causing an inconvenience for some state and county officials. It also probably costs more to do it now. It is not being fiscally responsible with taxpayer money.

I bet if you looked nation-wide you would likely see similar discrepancies in many blue and red states.

Holding a Presidential election requires more than a half a million poll workers and it's almost all temp work. The quality and experience varies widely. Mistakes are to be expected and are not necessarily a sign of a conspiracy.

Michigan regards the history of large amounts of discrepancies in Detroit as a serious problem to the extent that that the state threatened to take over election processing in the city after the August primaries.

It isn't really that votes don't get counted. It appears many of the error are thing like ballots getting sorted into bins for the wrong precinct, which puts the numbers off for two precincts.

The state then probably has to do an audit and figure out how the Detroit precincts messed up, which takes a lot of the state's time. And if there is a recount, they have to balance all the poll book before the recount, which is again a large amount of work and cost for the state and causes delays and distrust of the election.

It appears to be a significant problem in Detroit in terms of having to review and clean things up, but not something that results in any significant errors in vote counting.

Need to keep following along with this thread. Rudy is being handed his arse!

I was surprised that Rudy is still a member of the bar. It turns he actually isn't as a result of failure to pay his dues. But he is a member of other bars where he can ask for special appointment. I assume the judge approved the appointment on the grounds of "Oh, I just gotta see this!"

When the judge asked which standard of judicial review should apply to the case, Rudy's answer was "the normal one." That's like being asked which flavor of jellybeans you want and saying you want the normal one. The judge even tried to coax Rudy to the correct answer of "strict scrutiny" but Rudy went the other way which weakens his case and puts the burden of proof back on him.

NormalScrutinyHat (Popehat) characterizes Rudy's arguments as "a legal argument that zebras violate due process by disrespecting tulips".

Now the question is on what grounds the case will be dismissed. Jurisdiction? Standing? Failure to state a claim? Laches? Abstention? Incompetent counsel?

It is a toss up.

Oh dear. Rudi has been on the edge a couple of times already. He can't last as trump's lawyer much longer. Barr has gone to ground. Attorneys are pulling cases and running away.

Sydney Powell will save the day.
We SO need a train-wreck emoji. Have we got one? *checks...*

I got these: :wow2: :what: :wink8:

ETA: Probably the most appropriate GIF

Holy Snappin' Duck**** !!

I pop out for a couple of hours to go to Quiz Night with friends at the local pub, and this is what I find when I return... Rudy has crashed and burned again!

As if we needed any more proof that Trump is nuts, the fact that he has put Rudy in charge of his voter fraud lawsuits should remove any doubt.

42 . 42 is the answer to everything.

That will also be Rudy's final argument in court, and his best actually.

This being said, we may joke as much as we want, but what just didn't happen in Wayne County, Michigan, yesterday evening is scary, even if it ultimately failed.

20/jan/2021 can't come soon enough.

I'm officially jealous. I've been suffering from withdrawals for 9 months now because our darts league has had to cancel all tourneys and weekly competitions... due to pubs and legions being shut down, social distancing rules, etc etc.

I've even gone so far as to tear apart my basement in a futile effort to try to find my dusty old dartboard just so I could toss a few in the meantime. But alas, it seems the dartboard has walked off the premises to never return....

*sniffle*

I may just have to tape a printout of Trump's fake Time magazine cover on the wall to take out my frustrations on. Come to think of it.... that might prove to be more fun.

"pop out?" "Quiz night"? "friends"? "local pub"?

I think I remember something about those....
