Not accurate. He did accuse democrats of fraud. Going back and determine that Biden was winning due to fraud would not be a coup.

So far, his voting lawsuits have been dismissed because they had no evidence, described by someone as "Tweets with a filing fee". He has stated multiple times that he expects the Supreme Court to appoint him President, regardless of the election outcome, so his likely goal is to try to get appeals before them, at which point he expects them to ignore any lack of evidence and hand him the victory.

IMO nothing hits the mark truer than the observation that Trump is a narcissist. It explains everything anyone needs to know about him, and provides the simplest explanation why he should never be allowed to occupy a position of power.

And to be honest, it's kept me from hating him. I despise what he does, and I'm not above mocking him, but I actually pity him. He'll never be a happy man.

No he won't be. He's fighting the demons of an overbearing father. But I cannot bear how he treats the truth and his fellow human beings.

There are a quarter million Americans that are dead because of COVID. Trump referred to them as nobodies. He said soldiers that died were suckers and losers. I could go on an on about the horrible things he has said and tweeted. I can't pity him. Given everything on a silver plate. This man is in his mid 70s and has absolutely no idea how the rest of us live. And what's worse he doesn't care.

I think back to this last year and I truly believe this. Trump could have easily won this election in a landslide. COVID politically could have given him the election. All he had to do was take it seriously and actually lead. Lead the country against an invisible foe.

But Trump is lazy and absolutely refuses to be second chair to scientists and a disease. All he ever did was blame everyone and everything else. He could have rallied the nation. Instead, he held rallies for nutjobs who worshipped at his feet.

I agree that Trump had an easy win if he had simply put any effort into tackling the pandemic. He didn’t even have to be successful, just the appearance of effort.

This is an interesting comment, because he thinks he did that. Heck, he thinks he made superhuman effort.

He was never more than a marketer, and he did some marketing on his pandemic response, so he thinks he did amazing things, and is probably genuinely baffled why we weren't impressed.

He really wanted to be a wartime president, but he didn't realize that being a wartime president required hard work. It requires the president to motivate the whole country to come together, to fight together, and to sacrifice together. He didn't want to do that because he didn't want to sacrifice, so he instinctively knew some of his followers would not want to sacrifice. He did not make the hard choices and bring the country along to fight the war with him. He just celebrated the "victory" as the enemy overran our shores.

Well, I must say I agree with Ivanka. For those who don't click twitter links, she said that every legal vote should be counted, and every illegal vote should not, and that this shouldn't be controversial. She's right.


I'm not sure that's the real goal of her father's lawsuits, but her statement is correct, and not controversial.

You and Ivanka likely have different definitions of an "illegal vote."

Some days are like that. I've seen him be very funny on Maher. But frankly with everything going on these days, everything and everyone is falling flat. I watch all the late night guys and other than a few moments here and there, almost no one seems funny.

How do we address this? There is a substantial minority of the population that wants to believe in a highly romanticized vision of the USA and will flock to an "authoritative" person who gives them "license" to maintain that belief.

I still blame the Russians bots and the 40-year GOP smear campaign against Hillary; this, and the Dem's unfortunate idea of fair play that made them run with her anyway, is what set up Trump's election. Once he was elected, everything that followed was tragically predictable. Like I said, I consider Trump to be mentally ill, and it's just insane that he became POTUS.

With any luck this week marks the end of a dark era in American history. The cleanup will be horrific.

I’m not sure about all that. The media, Dems, and pollsters completely misunderstood and miscalculated Trumps support. I don’t have any reason to assume they’re any better at determining their motivations.

I think if they get a better idea of how he formed a 70M vote coalition in spite of his low approval ratings they can break it apart.

Seriously, I think the "evidence" in the GA case was one GOP poll watcher saying:

County Lawyer: Were those ballots arriving too late to be counted?

Seriously, that might actually succeed. Right now, The Libs are being pretty brutal over on Ivanka's twitter page (and I'll admit it's fun to read) but after awhile it gets boring. But Trumpers never seemed to get tired of trolling.

But as you say that will burn itself out after a few days of catharsis and we'll move on to actually doing stuff while "Troll la la la" will remain their sole motivator.
