2020 Presidential Election part 2

...and Australian ABC just updated Georgia with Biden ahead. My new numbers show Biden would have to win 102% of the remaining vote to get above the 0.5% recount margin... Don't think that's gonna happen!

FWIW, they talked about recounts on the Daily Beans podcast yesterday. Apparently, if a result is less close than 0.25% then the person requesting the recount has to pay for it, and that adds up to about $3m.

Is that how it goes everywhere? I read that in connection with Wisconsin, and assumed it varies by state.

...
Returned postal ballots and on the day ballot boxes are kept sealed until after the polls have closed and are taken to counting locations. Usually by local councils.

Once the polls are closed the boxes are opened and counting begins. There are registered observers from each party that are able to observe the counting process to make sure it is all above board.

...

When in the police I enjoyed election day. Patrolling round the polling stations and then making sure the ballot boxes were sent to the counting location.

Most councils use a sports centre and all the constituencies in the council area gather at that place for the counting and declarations.

With the police, candidates, journalists and TV cameras to broadcast the results all the counting locations, it is very open to scrutiny.

To elaborate a little on the UK elections method.

All eligible voters must register at their home address and have their names put on the electoral roll. If your name isn't down you don't get to vote and registration must be done well in advance.
...snip..

For the last GE the cut off date was 26th November and the vote took place 12th December so not that far in advance.

Do you hear that Fezig? That is the sound of ultimate suffering. It is the sound my heart made when the six-fingered man killed my father and the orange man makes it now.

Here in Durham, NC, they allow same day registration during early voting, which was roughly the two weeks before Election Day. This meant you could register and vote at the same place (fourteen sites in Durham County) right up through the Sat. before the election. The ballot will, of course, be held as provisional until all the relevant details are confirmed.

Oddly enough there is no SDR on Election Day itself. Although quite a few other states do allow it. (21 and D.C. according to one source.)

Things must be serious because Eric Trump looks damaged, like a broken-hearted man ejected from a strip club. Most of the time he has a facial expression that suggests he just wrote BOOBS on a calculator.

I didn't feel confident in posting that until now

So now the Democrats are working to gain control of the U.S. Senate through their actions on John James, David Perdue, and more. Would End the Filibuster, “Life”, 2A, and would Pack and Rotate the Court. Presidency becomes even more important. We will win!

Twitter is out of control, made possible through the government gift of Section 230!

I easily WIN the Presidency of the United States with LEGAL VOTES CAST. The OBSERVERS were not allowed, in any way, shape, or form, to do their job and therefore, votes accepted during this period must be determined to be ILLEGAL VOTES. U.S. Supreme Court should decide!

The simplest solution, surely, is that Biden has the White House on Monday to Wednesday, Trump takes it Thursday to Saturday, and Kanye has Sundays.
