2020 Presidential Election part 2

My thoughts go to Hillary saying, "Payback's a bitch, Trumpy."

Because she lost by such small margins it's only fitting that Trump is mirroring that result.
Yeah, but the difference is... Hillary won the popular vote nationwide, so her losing the electoral college by such small margins was, annoying.

Even though it looks like Biden's margins will likewise be rather slim in several states; however, he too has won the popular vote by several million. Makes it harder to attribute it to Karma.

Trump now leads Biden by 36,572 in Pennsylvania, down from 41,305 20 minutes earlier. Needs 56% of the remaining vote to win.

Biden will take NV and PA. I think this is all a formality at this point. There’s not an enclave of R mail in votes. They chose not to vote that way, especially in R counties.
Had Biden's opponent been an adult, he'd have ceded the election days ago.

CNN analyst says Biden will win PA with 50K+ margin. PA governor agrees.

ETA: Another drop to Trump's lead, now around 26K.

10:42 pm in Georgia right now and I am told that there is a batch of 5,000 votes coming through from a heavily Democrat area around about midnight.

And we now have spent a full page with a half dozen people explaining a simple fact to just one Trumper, just to get us back to the topic.

This kind of weaponized obtuseness "Dur... dur... I don't get it... explain it again" is one of their primary skills.

There's one simple way to make all that go away! ;)

I assure you it improves my enjoyment of the forum immensely.

Refresh! Refresh! Refresh! F5! Refresh!

Mmm. The F5 Sect grows.

The Trumpers could burn down an entire voting site in a Democratic Neighborhood and none of the Trumpers on this board would even acknowledge it until someone on the Left was "too dramatic" about it.

Maybe? Rather, what they actually tend to do is pre-emptively get rid of those voting sites, increasing the load on the rest and generally making it more annoying to vote. Then there's not a peep and it's easily dismissed.

Even when the only voting place in an entire city is moved out of the city to a place that's not close at all to public transportation on blatantly false pretenses, like they did in 2016.

PA State Secretary today said counting is faster when difference is greater, and the closer the race is, it takes longer to count.

Anyone can explain why??

Have a more specific actual quote, preferably with surrounding context?

Updates from the NYT that make me feel better:

In chronological order, newer to older
Philadelphia releases its first batch of results in hours, netting Biden more than 10,000 votes. The Trump lead in Pennsylvania is now around 26,000 votes.
With more votes coming in from Monroe County in eastern Pennsylvania, Trump’s margin in the state is down to 42,000 — with at least 208,000 ballots left to count statewide.

And in chronological order, newer to older:
Of the votes yet to be counted in Georgia, more than 5,000 come from Clayton County, a heavily Democratic area south of Atlanta.
Biden continues to close the gap with Trump in Georgia, where the president’s margin has shrunk to 1,902 votes.
Biden continues to gain ground in Georgia. Trump now leads there by just 2,497 votes. Another 16,105 votes remain to be counted.
In Georgia, where Trump’s lead over Biden has shrunk to 3,486, only 18,936 ballots remain uncounted, according to Jordan Fuchs, the deputy secretary of state.

On this, I disagree. This election is plenty close enough that it's entirely proper for Trump to not have conceded yet. Much of the crap and actions that Trump's spewing and doing are completely wrong, but on that specific point, Trump is not wrong.

I agree with you that it's too close for anyone to give up officially even though the writing has been on the wall for some time. Ironically, though, I believe Trump has conceded in his own stupid way just by how he's behaving. He knows what's coming.

Have to admit, I find all of this so frustrating... That the Democrats did not get the big breakthroughs they were expecting, that Moscow Mitch will still probably be able to screw up the country, that it is taking sooooo long to count some of the last ballots.
At least the drawn-out conclusion might be sapping the energy from any reaction to the final result.

But, I do find some consolation in the idea that as frustrating as it is for us, it must be torture for Stubby McBonespurs to gradually watch his lead slowly slip away.
Feel ya, bro. Feel ya deep. (We all talk like that in Wales.)

That definitely sounds right. PA has a very good interactive dashboard showing the amount of remaining votes https://www.votespa.com/About-Elections/Pages/Counting-Dashboard.aspx

There are 208k absentee ballots left to count, and Biden won 70.8% of the the 2,413K absentee votes already counted.

If that trends continues, Biden should win by at least 50K votes.
