If I happen to recall correctly, this guy really did describe what we're seeing today in the US.

It's just that the more harmful elements on the right wing adopted the tactics that he described and partway through that ideological subversion by the deeply harmful parts of the right, going by the actual evidence, Russia has entered into the picture and worked to subvert the right-wing with dramatically more success than they had with the left. The "Democrats are like cats" and "Republicans are like dogs" rather plays into that, after all. To poke a little further -

In all seriousness, this really is the kind of thing that somebody, somewhere, should look into, because everyone would want to make sure this didn't really happen. Are there people actually requesting ballots for dead people? Could be. Or is someone playing games with web videos. It's worth finding out. All right thinking people would rather have the actual choice of the people be elected than have "their guy" elected. I'm all for rooting out fraud. I'm pretty sure somebody will investigate this.

But.....I'm guessing that the nefarious activity in that tweet isn't actually casting a phony ballot for a dead person. But someone should figure out what's going on with it.

Now that was actually interesting. And I agree that, as I was reading it, I saw Trump and his supporters, not the Democrats.

Yep. That's a Trumper. Wear a face mask? Hell, no! It's a hoax! Trump's a pathological liar? Nah! He doesn't lie! It's FAKE NEWS! It wasn't until Chris Christie got Covid and spent days in the hospital that he finally got his "kick in the pants" and finally admitted he was wrong and should have worn a damn mask. And Trump still won't admit it.

It's hard not to see in that the state of many modern Americans. We have become a society of polarized tribes, with some people flat out rejecting facts in favor of narratives and opinions.

Trumpers, led by Trump, have completely rejected facts and science in favor of his narrative and opinion. No one has divided us into "polarized tribes" as much as Trump.

Once demoralization is completed, the second stage of ideological brainwashing is "destabilization". During this two-to-five-year period, asserted Bezmenov, what matters is the targeting of essential structural elements of a nation: economy, foreign relations, and defense systems. Basically, the subverter (Russia) would look to destabilize every one of those areas in the United States, considerably weakening it.

Russia interfered in the 2016 election with Putin admitting he wanted Trump to win. Trump has most certainly destabilized our foreign relations, alienating our traditional allies, and cozying up with our traditional enemies like Russia and N. Korea.

Yep, Bubba may be right ...only he doesn't recognize it's him and his fellow right wingers Bezmenov was actually talking about. Oh, sweet irony.
 
Latest batch from Maricopa Co. AZ was pretty good for Trump. Biden's lead dropped a bit. What's unknown yet is the composition of the remaining votes.
