Yes, but only indirectly related to the election. Skits like 'female finds decent armor' lets me have a smile totally unrelated to anything serious going on. So them, RLM, and a bottle of New Amsterdam vodka in the freezer are getting me through this week.

I watched this movie again about a week ago and afterwards I did some research. My sources had them both born in 1939. So either my source was wrong or possibly my eyes or brain did something to me. Probably the latter. But even so, as Father Merrin, Von Sydow looks ancient. 3 years later, he played the assassin Joubert in Three Days of the Condor.

I find it very encouraging to listen to, but I am too on edge to take him exactly at face value. There is till that fear of jinxing it; or of getting my hopes too high. So far Republicans have outperformed the polls so I am feeling cautious if not downright pessimistic.

My ex lives in Pa., says he won't relax until the EC names Biden the winner (nationwide). Long weeks ahead. But sure, I hope the tipping point is past.

A couple of members here have braced themselves to expect the worst, and I notice they haven't been posting too much since last night. It's superstitious to believe in jinxes, but it might be better than having one's hopes crushed.

That's something a lot of you Trump friends don't get. Numbers matter. As a lot of signs in my neighborhood say, "Science is real". (Our neighborhood went 80% for Biden, helping Joe win the great state of Michigan.) Whether the people present the numbers are happy about the numbers or sad about the numbers, they are still the numbers, and Donald Trump can't hereby claim that he can make those numbers stop changing.

But, when they count the number of people at Biden's inauguration ceremony, there will be a lot fewer than at Trump's inauguration, so that can be a fine consolation prize. He won't have to lie about the numbers this time around.

ETA: Multininja'd. And just in case people didn't get why I chose that specific reference, it marked the start of Donald Trump's term in office and endless series of lies, and also was the place where KellyAnne Conway started talking about "alternative facts".

I found it really ironic when Pence dragged out the "not entitled to your own set of facts" cliche, given that little bit of history, but I guess he was counting on short memories.
