It was the pollsters. I thought they would be closer to the actual results than in 2016.

Lots of the media do still practice good journalism as it happens. A bigger problem is the rise of misinformation via social media. Most MSM news organisations at least get their facts straight.

I don’t think it matters that much. Biden is unlikely to lose WI or MI at this point. NV has a lot of ballots left but they’re, again like we saw last night and this morning, mail in ballots in blue counties.

Norwegian news report Trump has started a fundraiser to challenge election results in courts. I never considered that they'd have to pay for that out of their own pocket.

I suppose that since roughly half the country supports him, raising the money might not present such an issue, but interesting nonetheless. I guess they really are broke. Then again, it's the same campaign that couldn't afford shuttle buses for their supporters.
 
Yeah but I don't want our margin to 1 state. Trump could screw with the election in 1 state, or drag this out sooooooooo goddamn long the entire country commits suicide just to make it stop.

I believe that since it's above .25% his campaign has to pay $3 million for the cost of the recount. They had better get it in advance!

This is Trump you are talking about. If he can find a way of getting a great many people to give him a pile of money to use as he sees fit of course he is going to take it. He'd sell tickets to his own kids funerals.

It depends. In many states a recount is automatic if the difference is less than a specified small percentage. But if the candidate just wants to say, "I don't like it. Count'em again!," he usually has to pay up. Otherwise every loser would demand a recount after every election. Recounts rarely change the results.

It says a lot that Trump doesn't have the cash on hand one way or another to support something so important. Might indicate that he doesn't really expect to succeed.

Let's not forget that Trumpers gladly ponied up 20 million to a GoFundMe to built him a wall.... a wall which "Mexico will pay for it" was one of if not the biggest talking point of his campaign. Which is like me giving money to a Kickstarter my company starts up to pay for my paycheck.

A sizable portion of Republican voters believe that the Democratic party is run by Satan-worshiping, baby-eating pedophiles. The media didn't do that.

Correct. The left, in its current form, is a fairly new thing. Of course there have always been people who were more leftist by the standards of their time, but there was a concerted effort to use the universities and media to CREATE this current batch of leftists and it was successful.

They talk about how divided the country is, but the reason it used to be more unified was that everyone in the western world used to have ideas about women and men, racial groups, borders, immigration, social arrangements, abortion, pornography, etc. - which would make Trump look tame by comparison.

The modern left are the ones who diverged from that. They really shouldn't have the right to complain about a divide when they are the ones who abandoned the traditional values while others just remained there.
