You're in Australia, right? Are your media giving the U.S. election much coverage?

It may be worth a reminder that the US is still the most influential country in the world, even after Trump's been working to cripple us on that front - and when we're facing a time that is very strongly reminiscent of the Nazis taking power in Germany, its one of those things that's hard to ignore even if one wants to.

Lol

Um no.

NZ

And yes. Heaps more than I think is warranted given it is another country.

Interesting though, even if I think it is way over complicated.

Just give it to the dude who gets the most people's votes.

It is easier

Apparently Trump is doing strongly among Cuban Americans in Florida.

Looks like Biden can write off any hope of winning Florida. Nate Silver had a post showing that he was doing slightly better among older voters though. The Cuban American thing is mainly a Florida thing, so it might not mean much when it comes to other states.

Some of the Cubans still have a fantasy that they will someday return to Cuba and get their stuff back. They are not the stereotypical Hispanic immigrant.

They're right in line with the Venezuelans I know. I guess they aren't the stereotypical immigrant either because they don't vote the way you think they should.

You mean they're not different words for the same place? Like Holland and the Netherlands?

:o
Lol

Kind of is tbf, given our relationship.

Just think of it as we are the cooler and more charismatic of the two.

Not really a question of how they vote. Many Hispanic immigrants came here from poor countries to make a better life for themselves. Many Cuban immigrants were well-educated and prosperous, if not rich, and were running for their lives from Castro, and for a long time they hoped Castro would be overthrown.

If social media is any indicator, a huge chunk of the Trump base is just tryhard trolls who laugh at "liberal tears" and spam TRUMP 2020 every other minute in the chat.

Amateurs. TRUMP 2024 (and forever)!

This is just confusing the **** out of me.

Is the ratio popular votes?

And if so what is the electoral current ratio?

And how do you know how many electoral college votes each state has and which even matter by numbers?

Is this serious?

It's the number of Representatives + Senators each state has. And Washington DC gets 3.

100 Senators
435 Representatives
+ 3 DC
= 538.

There's a good website that might help with that. I can't quite remember the name though...

Can anyone help?
