Looks like Biden is struggling to compete in Florida already. Democratic turnout for early voting lagging, unlike Texas, which already has 9M ballots counted, more than the 2016 total for the state.

He's the Executive of the Federal Government. He has no authority over the state governments, their policies, their infrastructure.

Again, the United States is not a system of central government divided into administrative regions. It's a union of regional governments with central management of collective interests.

The problems with Flint's water supply fall squarely on the shoulders of the government of Michigan. The President has no power there.

A president that can roll into any state, push aside its elected government, and impose his own policies by federal fiat would be exactly the kind of central government dictatorship we don't want. And way worse than whatever "dictatorship" Trump has actually indulged in.

Disputed votes are resolved as the count goes on ,recounts are done on the spot. (Note we did have a problem when we first introduced postal voting for the general public.)

Funny, so is ours. The calculation for parliament seats is a bit hairy, but not so bad all the media can't Figure it out.

I don't recall us having troubles with mail voting, but then, I have only ever used it a couple of times.

OK, there have been a couple of explanations here, thanks for those, but I still can't see why the allegedly most advanced nation in the world will want to put up with an archaic and inefficient system. ... After all, it's not even as if it consistently helps one certain group, all it does is add unnecessary uncertainty.

Wow! I must be stupid!

I was under the apprehension that the Environmental Protection Agency was a Federal Agency for which the President is the Executive. It is also my understanding that this agency's duties is to protect US citizens from pollution.
