Let's see, before science, Cholera, Leprosy, Bubonic Plague, Measles Smallpox, Polio and many other diseases ravaged the planet. Then of course, science has led to efficiencies undreamed of in farming, raising livestock, mining and of course transportation.

Without it Chris, you would be most likely illiterate peasant riding a donkey and crapping on the side of the road.

Here are the facts Chris. The virus was and is infectious. We may not be able to totally prevent it from spreading. But we ABSOLUTELY can slow the rate it spreads. And that saves lives.

The President is supposed to protect the citizens of this nation not just raise the white flag and surrender. Which is what Trump did on day one and the result is a quarter million lives have been sacrificed. Latest projections point to 400,000 lives lost by Inauguration. Studies show that 100,000 of those lives could be saved if everyone wore masks. But given Trump's total dismissal of the science way too many people have died and will die.

But hey, I know you don't care. Out of curiosity, is it the tax cut or the racist rhetoric from Trump that earns your support?

No, I'm not mocking science. I do mock pie in the sky studies as those can be tailor made to lead wherever you want them to go.

Fact is Covid is here, there is no protection from it even if you wear a mask. Running an election with claims based on "science" is not that smart of a thing to do if your campaign staff gets Covid. It shows the population that "science" didn't work for you so how can it work for "them".

Regarding the hilited text. Although I have more money in my pocket due to the Trump tax cuts as does every American. The question of Racism would be better applied to those that invented it along with slavery and segregation, the Democrats. I will once again be casting my vote for the party of Lincoln.

I don't know exactly where they were infected, and neither do you. But I can definitely point to this administration's downplaying of the pandemic, its mocking of mask-wearing and social distancing, and its promoting super-spreader events like rallies as causal factors in our country's abysmal pandemic response.

Stop saying Harris' "staff" as you've been corrected already. One person on her staff got it and it was at a non-campaign related event. She could have been doing everything possible but another person was not...like wearing a mask...and she walk by and breathed in the virus the infected person had ejected several feet into the air by a sneeze or cough. Remember that masks don't protect the wearer; they protect others by reducing the radius of the virus' projection into the air around the infected person.

Masks, used properly reduce infection by 85%. They're not perfect, that would require them to stop all infection but they do work.

Mask do indeed work and that is borne out by data; that you are unfamiliar with it, choose to ignore it, or are just parroting trumpist dogma doesn't change that data.

And this is getting off topic; perhaps you should set out lines in the proper thread, or change lures.

I agree and I wear mine as a good citizen should with the thought of protecting others.

Yet my point remains that if your campaign staff comes down with Covid after you've been running on saving the US from a botched response to the virus as a central issue, it negates your talking points. Voters see that strict adherence to the "science" methods being followed are not a guarantee you're up for the job. When Trump came down with Covid Biden had a good issue to push, when the Harris staffer and her flight crew members came down with Covid any ground gained was lost.

Harris has one staffer...let me repeat that; one... who has come down with Covid which she contracted at an event unconnected to the campaign. On the other hand, Pence has had FIVE in his orbit test positive including his body man and his chief of staff. Trump has contracted the virus, his wife, and his son which brings the total to more than a dozen who have tested positive from the Rose Garden event at the White House this month. And you have the cajones to say if JOE can't come up with a plan to protect his own campaign he certainly has no business taking over Covid protection for the US?

This is a popular ruse by right-wingers nowadays. The Southern White Democrats were, guess what, conservatives and right-wingers. Latter day Southern White Democrats fled the Democratic Party when LBJ proposed and enacted a slew of civil rights laws advancing racial desegregation and voting rights expanding the racial minority vote. and flocked to the Republican Party that became increasingly a haven of right-wingers and white nationalists.

That's your opinion and I think it's wrong. Everyone around President Trump, who didn't follow the science got sick. OTOH, Biden and Harris who have followed the science have made catching Covid an exception.

This is a lie that is easily exposed by searching "The Dixiecrats" and counting how many switched to the Republican party VS how many remained a Democrat. Now if you wish to create a topic for debate please do so but as this is off topic for this thread I cannot respond further here as I have no wish to hijack the thread from the 2020 election.

Apparently you need reminding that masks don't protect the wearer; they help protect others from the infected person wearing the damn mask from projecting the virus farther into the air around them when they talk, sneeze or cough where another person breathes it in. I know that's a difficult 'sciencey' concept to understand.

Of course you only need to show that the Harris staff was infected by a Trumper to prove your point. But they weren't, you can't and that's that

As the ONE staff member caught it at at a non-campaign event, for all we know, it was a Trumper who spread it as Trumpers tend to be the ones who reject all that sciencey stuff like wearing masks, washing hands, and social distancing. Which is why over a dozen people tested positive after the Rose Garden event, including your beloved Dear Leader. Which is why Herman Cain died of Covid after attending a Trump rally. Which is why there were spikes in Covid case in seven of the 14 towns were Trump held rallies.
