Well, there's good and bad news, for Pence. The good news is that if Pence gets the 'rona, his God will send an angel to heal him! The bad news is that the angel will be female, and Pence will refuse to be in a room with her, and thus not get cured.

Imagine if Trump barely ekes out an EC win like in 2016 and loses the popular vote by something like 10 or 20 million? People are not going to sit by with that.

Nah, bollocks to that! Trump's chances are wobbling back and forth between 12 and 13% and that's the lowest it's ever been. Biden's chances wobble back and forth between 87-88% and occasionally the tie rounds off to 1%. It's been like that since October 12th! That's nearly two weeks!

I don't see anything to worry about, but it begs the question of what level of insanity you'd need to have to have been convinced to vote for him in the past couple of weeks. Maybe some of the lies stuck, after all.

What do you actually vote for? In the U.S. we vote for President/VP, senators, congressmen, governors, state legislators, mayors, sheriffs, city and county councils, school boards, often state and local judges, bond proposals and more. In California this year there are 14 "propositions" about spending or legal changes on the ballot.

My ballot has 31 offices to vote on. No propositions or amendments this year.

3 Federal
13 State (that aren't judges)
7 State (that are judges)
1 District judge
5 County Commissioners
1 County Register of Deeds
1 Soil and Water District Superintendent​

One advantage of voting by mail is that people have time to think about what they are doing.

I have no objection to mail-in ballots. In fact, I'm quite in favor of them. But if someone wants time to consider their choices then there are plenty of other ways to do it.

I wonder if that is anything like our Soil and Water Conservation District Commissioner?

I don't know, it seems increasingly likely that Trump will simply lose and lose clearly - the aggregators have Biden 8-10% ahead in a very polarized election with only a week to go and there is plenty of data suggesting that Democratic voters are significantly more fired up than Republican.

I've mentioned my idiot BIL before. So last night my sister called and asked my husband to take him to the ER because he was in horrible pain with his sciatica and spinal arthritis. Sister had been drinking champagne to celebrate her birthday so couldn't drive. So Husband drove over and picked him up. On the say to the ER, said idiot BIL was ranting about having to wear a mask and that Husband couldn't accompany him into the ER. He was saying that everybody should just get the coronavirus and get immunity and most people would survive. Sound familiar? Now, my sister just turned 68, is overweight and has diabetes so is high risk. Yet idiot BIL is ranting about people having to wear masks. Unsurprisingly, he's a Trump supporter. Did I mention he's an idiot? Or is that just being redundant?

For political reasons, I wasn't thrilled with the idea of Biden winning in a landslide instead of a close finish... but it would be fun to answer the "Go ahead and just try to impeach this" map meme with a new map that says something like "OK, we just did" or "the people's impeachment".
