Bill Barr and his October Surprise

Jake Tapper and Christiana Amanpour claimed on air there was no evidence of wrongdoing by Hunter Biden and mentioned Steve Bannon by name.

Bannon offered an invitation for the two of them to come down the street to the "Warm Room" and he would show them what he has. He even offered to take the hard drive contents to CNN so they could have a look.

No doubt they are arranging the meeting now. <––––sarcasm

You mean this Steve Bannon?

https://www.nytimes.com/2020/08/20/nyregion/steve-bannon-arrested-indicted.html

Beats me completely why his accusations would not be taken seriously.

Does this change anything?

"Tony Bobulinski, who claims to be a former business associate of former Vice President Joe Biden's son, Hunter Biden, will sit for an interview with the FBI regarding his knowledge about the Biden family's business dealings."

https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/poli...n-business-dealings/ar-BB1akUNn?ocid=msedgdhp

It's Russian disinformation, and you can't prove he met with the FBI, and even if it's true nothing illegal was done, and if anything illegal was done, Hunter isn't running for President.

The beauty of announcing he's meeting with the FBI is that the FBI can't confirm or deny it.

Isn't it funny that people in the right wing news bubbles can only get close to the truth when they're trying to be sarcastic?

Yes, the laptop looks like it's Russian disinformation, as more than 50 experienced intelligence pros have attested to. Know nothing brietbart experts may disagree, but that means less than nothing.

Yes, he hasn't met with the FBI yet. That's why it's spoken in the future tense.

Yes, there has been no evidence of anything illegal that has been presented, and the lack of any action by the DOJ even with Trump's pushing speaks to how little illegality has been found.

And yes, Hunter isn't running for President.

Exactly. Barr is a spineless weasel and even he hasn't given Trump the legal action he desires against the Bidens. Either he hasn't been able to find a weasel in his service willing to take point on this baseless nonsense or there is an ethical line won't cross where he'll excuse any crime committed by a prominent Trumper but won't manufacture investigations against Trump's political enemies.

I don't think it's an ethical line, exactly. There's some kind of fear there. Or maybe it's been worked out that having Sen. Ron Johnson on it is enough and Barr doesn't have to take a dive on it. Trump is probably still furious with Barr, though.

Why is it that while the FBI and many other legitimate law enforcement agencies keep details of their investigations quiet for as long as possible, congressional committees seem to make as much noise as possible?

I guess to the FBI the work product is indictments and convictions, while with politicians, the work product is the noise.

I think there's some truth to the latter. For all his many faults, Barr hasn't yet started a frivolous prosecution, and it doesn't look like he's inclined to start.

And nothing, the post is what it is.
"I have no opinion on that".

Sorry if you have a problem with posting the actual allegations.
I don't have a problem with posting allegations. I do have a problem with dumping random stuff into a thread without explanation.

"Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances."

The highlighted part.
obligation
noun:
an act or course of action to which a person is morally or legally bound; a duty or commitment.

"Neither you or I know what the FBI or DOJ is doing,
How do you know that?

stop pretending you do"
How do you know the poster is pretending?

"There are no criminal charges, may be some later, may not be"
"The Sun isn't going supernova, maybe some time later, may not be". "Stop pretending you know it won't".

Sorry if you think it's random or that I have to explain it to you.

The context was the FBI telling Rudy to zip it. You highlighted the wrong section, see legally. And if the emails are real, I would say he's actually morally obligated to release them.

How do you know that?

Because the FBI hasn't commented.

How do you know the poster is pretending?

He may not be, but if he thinks there is a 10 month time limit, he's wrong.

"The Sun isn't going supernova, maybe some time later, may not be". "Stop pretending you know it won't".

The sun will never go supernova.

There are no charges as of today unless they are under seal, that does not preclude the possibility of future charges. Anyone saying otherwise with certainty is either pretending to know, or wrong, or lying.

You guys ever know someone who, no matter how many times you explained it to them, would still go, "... but maaaybe he actually is a Nigerian prince!"

Yes that Steve Bannon.

Here's Rudy standing with DingGang Wang who serves as a propaganda arm for Guo Wengui, who owns the yacht Bannon was arrested on, who's under FBI investigation, who's a fugitive from China. Bannon can be seen behind Rudy. Yan LiMeng in the mirror.

Does anyone else think the picture of Hunter smoking crack looks like it's taken from outside of the window? Or is it a picture of a screen? It's certainly not a selfie.

This "scandal" is like a sped up version of the Trump administration. Every time you think you've seen it all, that it can't possibly get any dumber or more farcical, something happens to plumb new depths of idiocy.

Turns out Rudy Giuliani's laptop story is too fishy even for Rudy Giuliani.
