As if we needed any more evidence of this farce:
Man Who Reportedly Gave Hunter’s Laptop to Rudy Speaks Out in Bizarre Interview

It gets more specious from there.

More from your link:
Mac Isaac referenced the infamous Seth Rich conspiracy theory—which holds that a DNC staffer who police say was murdered in a botched robbery was actually killed off by Clinton allies because he leaked committee emails—as reason for his paranoia. He said he made a copy of the hard drive for the purposes of personal protection.

“They probably knew I had a copy because I was pretty vocal about not wanting to get murdered,” he said, “so I’m going to have a copy.”

Mac Isaac refused to answer specific questions about whether he had been in contact with Rudy Giuliani before the laptop drop-off or at any other time before the Post article’s publication. Pressed on his relationship with Giuliani, he replied: “When you’re afraid and you don’t know anything about the depth of the waters that you’re in, you want to find a lifeguard.”

Seeming to realize he’d said too much, he added: “Ah, ****.”

So Rudy was your lifeguard? the reporters asked. “No comment,” he replied.

Can anyone explain to me why we are already seeing long voter lines even before the actual election day?

Do these polling stations only open one single specific day?
Why aren't these people voting by mail?

The rejection rate for mail-in ballots is significantly higher than for in person voting.

And given the efforts of Red States to curtail voting, getting voting done ASAP makes a lot of sense, in particular when your job is closed down now but might open before November again.

Can anyone explain to me why we are already seeing long voter lines even before the actual election day?

Because the people responsible for running the elections have ensured that, for certain districts (who may lean towards the other party):

  • There aren't enough polling stations - here in the UK there is one polling station for every 800 or so electors on average
  • There are few voting booths/machines so few people can vote at the same time. I'd blame this on Covid-19 and social distancing if it didn't happen every time
  • That there are onerous voter ID requirements which means that each voter takes a considerable amount of time to actually cast their vote

It's what happens when there is no non-partisan electoral authority.

Do these polling stations only open one single specific day?

I don't think so but I think people want to get out an vote at the first opportunity. Perhaps in a few days time, it'll be easier.

Why aren't these people voting by mail?

Maybe they weren't able to register for a mail-in ballot - many states require a specific reason and not wanting to catch Covid-19 isn't a valid one.

Maybe they didn't get their act together to request a main-in ballot.

Maybe they don't trust the USPS to deliver them their ballot paper and/or deliver it to the count - although they could drop off their postal ballot if they can find somewhere to do it and trust that the drop off boxes in their district will make it to the count.

Maybe they want to be absolutely sure that their vote is registered.

Is that the party affiliation of the voter ?

I presume they haven't been counted yet.

Florida does allow for the counting of ballots 40 days before Election.

But I very much doubt they are allowed to release the results.

So yeah, I expect these numbers are based on party affiliation, which isn't much better.

I was thrilled to be back in the American Heartland with thousands of loyal, hardworking IOWA Patriots! 20 days from now, we are going to win IOWA, and we are going to win 4 more years in the White House!

Do the envelopes have a return address with the voter's name? I thought they might selectively go through them and keep all the John and Karens and discard all the Joses and Shaniquas (or whatever you might have for a minority name). Sure, some minority votes might still get through, but it might be enough to tip a close House race.

Given my understanding of California electoral law (which is frankly second hand and incomplete), it is very hard for an unrelated party to deliver an absentee ballot of this type to the electoral authorities.

so my best guess is that there was no intention to deliver a single one.
