Yes. Someone could walk into the Oval Office covered in blood, holding a smoking gun in one hand a box marked “state secrets to sell to China” in the other, but if he fawned over “Mr. President, Sir” then he’d get hired (and Trump would publicly describe him as one of the smartest men he has ever met).

After the story today, maybe a lot. The laundering of the Egyptian loan that Trump then loaned to the campaign crossed into a fairly serious felony. This isn't Cohen and a campaign finance violation. This could be a money laundering charge as the money laundered was then used to commit a crime. The penalties here could mean real time.

Of course, he's an odd duck. I regard some of his sayings as likely to be self-mocking humor, but it's hard to fit that interpretation with his refusal to admit "covfefe" was a typo. On the other hand, it all fits a bit better when you remember that Spicer said that the word was understood by a mysterious group of insiders. That is another example of something so strange that perhaps it must have been intentional humor.

I have seen no evidence that Trump even has a sense of humor. Have you ever seen him laugh. Not smile, which he only does at his rallies, but laugh at something genuinely funny.

Even worse, he think he is utterly incapable of a self-deprecating comment. His ego won't allow it. No, his "Please like me" is best viewed in the context in which it was said: he's way behind in the presidential race and is desperate to turn that around.

With that linkage to Spicer plus saying that something quite strange suggests there is humor involved looks to me like bending over backward to give Trump the benefit of doubt. Trump has given no reason for us to give him that benefit.

Yes.
He acts like an ill-mannered 5-year-old. And for a poorly behaved child, the word “please” is a last resort. I think for Trump, the expression of desires follows a sequence. Make a demand, yell at people, call people names, make threats, say please.

As for self-deprecating humor, no one would expect a dim-witted 5-year-old to be able to do that. The first step towards that is understanding that other people are independent beings with their own thoughts, feelings, and desires. President Trump incessantly demonstrates that he has not reached this level of emotional maturity. At his age, he most likely never reach that stage. His reactions to getting sick make that quite clear.
 
The "I saved you damn neighbourhood" follow-up to his "please like me" sentence tells you everything about trump. It's always "i did something for you, now you owe me" and you should be very skeptical of whether he's done what he says he's done.

I see no hint of folksy humour or self-deprecation.

It's like his recent statement that he's one of the best things that ever happened to Puerto Rico and they had better vote for him.
Ignoring the fact that they don't vote for President, of course.

There's a simple solution for that. Officially make Puerto Rico a state - like had been in the Republican platform.

A federal prosecutor handpicked by the attorney general, William Barr, to investigate whether Obama administration officials had mishandled classified intelligence relating to the Russia investigation has wrapped up his work without finding wrongdoing or considering charges, according to the Washington Post.

The conclusion of an investigation by US attorney John Bash into the so-called “unmasking” of names in intelligence reports by Obama officials was seen as a defeat for Donald Trump and Barr, who appeared to be fishing for damaging information that could be used against former vice=president Joe Biden.

Local law enforcement officers deputized as U.S. Marshals have given conflicting accounts of the shooting. Witnesses say they heard no warning before the agents shot Michael Reinoehl dead, an outcome President Trump termed “retribution.’’

To poke at a couple bits from that -

One deputy U.S. marshal told investigators with the Thurston County sheriff’s office that Reinoehl pointed a gun at him. Another deputy marshal told detectives that Reinoehl had his hand on his pistol and was in the process of pulling the gun out of his pocket when officers fired. The gun was in Reinoehl’s right front pants pocket when detectives recovered it.

Civilian eyewitnesses interviewed by Oregon Public Broadcasting and ProPublica and other public statements offer similarly inconsistent and sometimes conflicting recollections. They agree that they heard no warning from federal agents, and saw no flashing lights that indicated the arrival of law enforcement, just a fusillade that one neighbor likened to a scene out of the video game Call of Duty.

Investigators haven’t said how many shots the officers aimed at Reinoehl, but there were so many that the little yellow evidence markers used to identify and protect spent shell casings resembled a miniature tent village.

So terrible that Facebook and Twitter took down the story of “Smoking Gun” emails related to Sleepy Joe Biden and his son, Hunter, in the @NYPost. It is only the beginning for them. There is nothing worse than a corrupt politician. REPEAL SECTION 230!!!

Joe Biden must immediately release all emails, meetings, phone calls, transcripts, and records related to his involvement in his family’s business dealings and influence peddling around the world—including in CHINA!

I’ve gone through years of a Fake, Illegal, and Totally Discredited Witch-Hunt, and now it’s revealed that it was a Hoax by the “other side”, which must pay a price for what they did. Think of where we’d be now without Fake & Fraudulent stories every night, for years!!!

Congratulations to the @nypost for having exposed the massive corruption surrounding Sleepy Joe Biden and our Country. He’s always been a corrupt politician. Disgraceful!
