This is the standard for mild cases. For more serious cases like, for example, cases where hospitalization, supplementary oxygen, and therapies like dexamethasone and antibody treatments are deemed necessary the standard is twenty days.

Not so. Even when symptomatic PCR sensitivity is rarely as high as 95% and it drops off a lot (50% or so) in 3 or 4 days after symptoms first appear. There can be residual pickup of non-infectious virus pieces weeks later. It's a gradual curve down over a long interval for most people. That's why the 10 days after symptoms subside. It's sometimes augmented with 2 successive PCR tests 24 hrs apart.
