Riots, looting, vandalism, etc.

Speak of the devil:

Ruby Ridge echoes in deadly Madison Heights FBI shootout

No word yet if any windows were harmed during the shootout.

Excellent news! Another thug who tried to kill police is dead, good riddance.

When do the riots start? Or, do we not care because he had the wrong skin color?

Details from the affidavit:

Lots of details. The milita group was conducting tactical field training with weapons, was trying to build explosives, and was plotting a kidnap attempt that either involved storming the state house or capturing the Governor at one of her homes. They surveilled her home on two separate occasions. They seemed to prefer capturing her alive so they could hold a treason trial and execute her, but seemed to be growing impatient and considered a simpler assassination approach.

All of this recorded in detail by a confidential informant who regularly wore a wire or recorded calls. So much for OPSEC.

On July 27, 2020 FOX asked in an encrypted group chat, which included
GARBIN, HARRIS, FRANKS and CHS-2, “OK, well how’s everyone feel about kidnapping?”
No one responded to the question.

Lol

Hey, let's not start misdirecting with all this explosives and political kidnapping and stuff. The issue here is windows. Plate glass is serious ****, man.

Next time a brick comes crashing through your window, please remember to post how incredibly insignificant the experience was for you.

I've been vandalized more than a few times by damage to home and vehicle. It's not national news or of sociopolitical significance. It just sucks.

By comparison, if you are kidnapped by right wing loonies trying to figure out the most effective means of killing you, remember to post how incredibly insignificant the experience was for you.

Whitmer: "Our head of state has spent the past 7 months denying science, ignoring his own health experts, stoking distrust, fomenting anger, & giving comfort to those who spread fear ... just last week, POTUS stood before the people and refused to condemn white supremacists."

you compare the two, immediately following a post about how incomparable they are?

No, the link shows why they were rioting. Video links to the actual rioting were posted earlier.

Again, the article makes no mention of rioting.

Also, the videos you posted earlier depicted vandalism, not rioting.

Yeah, you go with that.

Since folks just love their, shall we say, whitewashed and santsclausified version of LK Jr., let's remember what he had to say on this:

Martin Luther King Jr. said:
I must make two honest confessions to you, my Christian and Jewish brothers. First, I must confess that over the past few years I have been gravely disappointed with the white moderate. I have almost reached the regrettable conclusion that the Negro's great stumbling block in his stride toward freedom is not the White Citizen's Counciler or the Ku Klux Klanner, but the white moderate, who is more devoted to "order" than to justice; who prefers a negative peace which is the absence of tension to a positive peace which is the presence of justice; who constantly says: "I agree with you in the goal you seek, but I cannot agree with your methods of direct action"; who paternalistically believes he can set the timetable for another man's freedom; who lives by a mythical concept of time and who constantly advises the Negro to wait for a "more convenient season." Shallow understanding from people of good will is more frustrating than absolute misunderstanding from people of ill will. Lukewarm acceptance is much more bewildering than outright rejection.

I had hoped that the white moderate would understand that law and order exist for the purpose of establishing justice and that when they fail in this purpose they become the dangerously structured dams that block the flow of social progress. I had hoped that the white moderate would understand that the present tension in the South is a necessary phase of the transition from an obnoxious negative peace, in which the Negro passively accepted his unjust plight, to a substantive and positive peace, in which all men will respect the dignity and worth of human personality. Actually, we who engage in nonviolent direct action are not the creators of tension. We merely bring to the surface the hidden tension that is already alive. We bring it out in the open, where it can be seen and dealt with. Like a boil that can never be cured so long as it is covered up but must be opened with all its ugliness to the natural medicines of air and light, injustice must be exposed, with all the tension its exposure creates, to the light of human conscience and the air of national opinion before it can be cured.

You can always tell who has no actual idea what people are marching for by whether or not they understand the simple chant "No Justice, No Peace".

But isn't it also interesting that people are still whining about windows, when they should be worrying about people being, y'know, killed by so-called law enforcement. Same folks that wondered why Mookie had to throw that trash can, but never asked about Radio Raheem.

Interesting indeed.
When did you smash out the windows of your home?
January?, March?, or are you waiting for a more opportune time to demonstrate your commitment to the cause?

Heaven forbid we should lower the bar so far as to use terms that actually mean what they are describing.

I’ve never seen someone so concerned with the safety and well-being of glass. Is this some weird cult that I’m not familiar with?
