The irony is it's 2020. The world is connected enough that the President can be isolated (in a medical sense) while still remaining as connected and informed.

Sitting in the Oval Office having to "President" via telegram would have sucked. Trump doesn't have that problem.

Aside from the utterly blind, callous, stupidity of this statement, which is over the top even for Trump, I note that while he doesn't want to debate Biden remotely he has no problem whatsoever with spewing his lies on Fox remotely.

The WHO is not the end all be all of medical expertise, especially in the US. Most countries ended up implementing travel restrictions in one way or another at some point so I don't think your assumption here is valid.

Beyond that, it's not about that one ineffective thing Trump did right at the beginning. It's about the million things he could have done that he failed to do.
