Trump and Melania test positive test positive for Covid 19

It makes perfect sense from the standpoint that a healthy workforce is better than an unhealthy one. It makes sense from the standpoint that healthcare that isn't tied to your employment status allows people to take greater risks with regards to starting their own businesses, going back to school, or switching careers, which can improve the overall economy. It makes perfect sense from the standpoint that if my neighbors can get treatment for, let's say, a major global pandemic without losing their job or their house, it makes it less likely that they'll give me the disease.

Shall I go on? Love&Kindness is one argument in favor of universal healthcare, but it's not the only one, or even the most important one.

It's also, you know, cheaper. Countries with universal health care uses less money on healthcare than the US.

Hmmmmm . . . much of what the Dems are currently fighting for is dependent on the idea that every human being merits sympathy and empathy. How does Universal Healthcare make any sense without the fundamental acknowledgement that every human being merits that empathy and sympathy? Smokers, the obese, people who don't exercise . . . do they not deserve healthcare because they brought it on themselves? Does the principle of Universal Healthcare exclude them? Should we be dancing on their graves?

While I understand the sentiments about Trump, I do not share them nor do I think you would share similar sentiments in almost any other situation.

Your moral posturing is already on pretty shaky ground without the need to throw in a bunch of false equivalencies. Quit while you’re ahead.

Interesting note, but consider the last paragraph:

The VIP rarely objects to the attending physician's taking command of the medical care. It is the followers of the VIP-the hospital administrators, the important family and friends, and the curious onlookers-who are made uncomfortable. The best decisions in reversing the ravages of the VIP syndrome are to take measures to ensure the privacy of the VIP, to place limits on the visitors, and to explain that the care will be identical to that given to all other patients with the same condition. There is nothing biologically different about a pope or a president, and there is no need to alter one's thinking in caring for them.

Do you really think the highlighted parts accurately describe how Trump would react in this situation, and how he feels about himself as compared to other people?

Trump Tweets

I will be leaving the great Walter Reed Medical Center today at 6:30 P.M. Feeling really good! Don’t be afraid of Covid. Don’t let it dominate your life. We have developed, under the Trump Administration, some really great drugs & knowledge. I feel better than I did 20 years ago!

... because the American Healthcare system allows everybody who tests positive to Covid-19 have access to a huge Hospital suite the day after they test positive, their own personal team of Doctors and the advanced medical care he has gotten, then can go back home to another Hospital type environment with resident personal medical staff, and all at no personal cost.

Does he live in such a cosseted personal environment that he thinks the other 7.7 Million infected people and the 215,000 dead have access to these "really great drugs & knowledge"? What an insensitive unempathetic dick this man is.

No, I am not begrudging him this treatment. He is the President after all - the point is that he is doing a "let them eat cake thing" and we all know how well that turned out.

I was kind of hoping that during that latest presser the doctors were suddenly all going to look at their pagers, drop everything, and rush back inside. That would have been exciting.

"Don't be afraid of covid"

-Trump, on steroids, with a level of medical care at home unlike anyone else in the country

So now that he's released himself from the hospital, Biden can resume the attack ads.

Masks are for those frightened by COVID. Don't let it dominate your life.

You bet your last dollar that will be the narrative from now on.

Covid doesn't kill anyone, but when you have a country where 7700 people die every day of the year, some of them die with Covid.

Problem solved: open up the country, ban laws making masks compulsory.

Are they trying to kill all their supporters?

Given that a majority of Trump's support is overweight and over 60, I certainly hope so.

Even after Kayleigh and others in the press office tested positive for coronavirus, Deputy Press Secretary Brian Morgenstern is on Fox and still won't commit to wearing a mask when he briefs reporters.
Heck no, they've all been getting those COVID tests, if it's good enough to protect the POTUS it's.... you know, you don't need a mask if you test negative.

He’s only just learnt about it at the school of Covid. A school with no books. Best kind of school. Learned so much! So much. And he will be telling the people. The people will soon learn about covid.

That will quickly change to: "The doctors were so surprised by how much I know. They said, "Sir, how do you know so much. No other patient here knows as much as you."

Yes, when they are very ill they do want the medical team to run the show. But pump them up full of dexamethasone giving them a sense of feeling 'great' that is inconsistent with how well they really are and the picture reverses.

Dr. Conley says Trump will continue taking dexamethasone steroids after he leaves the hospital.

Why? is he now abusing the steroids like he abuses Adderall?
