How so? Postponed or Biden blowout?
They weren't predicting a blowout, but I think they were looking at the post-debate math and realizing Trump would be having a hard time even if he could get out there and campaign, but he can't. I think they were leaning that way before the COVID-19 announcement. They weren't talking about canceling the election, they just think Trump is done.

My radio market is odd. You expect talk radio to be "conservative" but to me they seem pretty independent. They just don't like Trump. They don't like him because he's one of the most unlikeable presidents ever. Otherwise they try to thread the needle by being "conservative" in an old-fashioned sense, which means "We want to proceed cautiously, not burn the whole thing down."

The thread could be aptly titled: White House Super Spreader Event

Trump
Melania
Hicks
Lee
Tillis
McDaniel
Rev. John Jenkins
Conway
3 journalists
White house press staffer

Did I miss anyone?

Add: wow that's what I call being ninja'ed

Some people like presidents who can breathe.
He will have the best health care in the world and then switch it to the sympathy card in a week or two.

I kind of thought this is obvious.

Showing strength with it etc.

The bloke switches his opinions every 2 minutes, so one more isn't going to matter.

Then a book

"How I bet Covid. A dying presidents struggle"

Maybe a TV movie

And was kind of small IIRC. But the movie did get me interested in reading up on him.

Patton was 6' 2". Although he wouldn't be described as say husky.

The movie got me interested in him too. But for me it was when the movie was released in 1970.

This is really weird. I started this thread yesterday but it now says "marting" started it and it begins with his post. Very strange.

I think your thread was merged with some posts from the general Trump thread - certainly at some point yesterday it jumped by about 40-50 posts while I was reading it, and I had to go over some of the same posts again.

Yes, I'm pretty sure it's a merged thread. If you look back on page 1, at the top of post # 1 (by marting) you'll see in bold print a line saying "Trump and Melania test positive test positive for Covid 19". That's the thread title, which appears in bold at the top of the opening post of a thread when the thread is started. So marting either started a thread about this topic yesterday at 8:56 pm central time, or posted that comment in the general Trump thread and a mod moved it from there to start a new thread specifically on this topic.

Now look at post # 12 (by Stacyhs). At the top of the post you'll see in bold print a line saying "Trump and Melania test positive test positive for Covid 19", indicating this was the opening post of a thread. So Stacyhs started a thread on this topic today at 12:02 am central time.

At some point the two threads got merged. And since marting's was posted 3 hours earlier and 6 minutes earlier, marting's post appears first in the merged thread.

Something I find interesting is that the merged thread title, which contains what I assume was an inadvertent double use of the phrase test positive, appears at the top of the opening posts of both the threads which were merged. I doubt both marting and Stacyhs made the same error in typing out their thread titles, so it appears that when two threads are merged the same title is placed at the top of both opening posts. I'd never noticed that before. (Or maybe that's what happens when a mod creates a new thread from posts split from an existing thread and merges that with a thread someone else has started. If so, then the error in the title wasn't the fault of either marting or Stacyhs, it's a moderator who typed in "test positive twice"...)

Why couldn't he be like William Henry Harrison?

An ICU Trump could be moved to confidentially.

But it sounds like they are going to do the standard care, Remdesivir and dexamethasone, something more easily done with experienced hospital staff than a klutzy WH doctor.
That's probably it right there.

But, as someone pointed out, Trump's doctors at Walter Reed are probably going to be attending to him 24/7, not pitching in for general duties. So the White House effort needn't be clumsy. Anyway, in a normal administration you would think support staff would have worked out a protocol regarding when the president is ill enough to be hospitalized. In his case, it's possible advisers are making it up as they go along. It would be a thankless task trying to get Trump to agree on a protocol.

He must be pretty sick, I think.

The New York Times has reported that trump is developing symptoms.
The president has a low-grade fever, nasal congestion and a cough, according to two people close to Mr. Trump. Times link

I think trump's in for a rough ride.

Am I going to have to go back to the store and buy yet another bottle of champagne?:wave1:alc:
Guess it depends on whether you think older people should catch a global pandemic and celebrate it in a weird sadistic joy.

Even if you don't like the bloke like most people it would seem a tad odd. But each to their own.

Had never heard of this bloke.

Googled him and realised Spike Milligan had a side job

You lost me. What does an Irish actor have to do with US President that died in office after only 31 days?

Never mind. I see they look one hell of a lot alike.
