I especially liked Don Lemon's reaction -- "Whew! Do you need a drink of water after all that?"
I saw bits of the Town Hall -- this may be the first time that Trump faced a truly diverse crowd and questions rather than supporters (or reporters). He seemed a bit put out that he wasn't getting applause and cheers for his regular spew.
It's less than two weeks until the debate with Biden. I'm increasingly thinking there will suddenly be a reason for Trump not to show up.

Except today, I'm leaning less towards clown car and more towards some mafioso/banana republic outfit.
A convoy of Toyota pickups with machine gunners on the back for escort vehicles would better fit his current image as wannabe-Banana Republic dictator. This motorcade would escort the President's vehicle, a vintage black vehicle reminiscent of 40's mafia godfathers. Something like this.
The contrast might be somewhat jarring, so maybe paint it white or spray paint some logo onto it so as to better match the pickups.

I know it's sports, but my reason for sharing is that I'm curious how Trump will play this. He insisted the Big Ten play football, and I'm ready to watch him take credit for this. WOnder whether it will impact swing-states, like MN, MI, WI, OH...

No college football is a religion in parts of the country and if you put a gun to my head and asked how sarcastic I'm being I'm not 100% sure I'd have an answer.

Laura Ingrahm on Fox News called it an "ambush."
Now, aside from the idiocy of being "ambushed" by questions from people (as someone on Twitter responded, there weren't even any questions from any family members!), it does reflect the fact that he even she recognizes that it was a disaster. The "ambush" is an excuse for bad performance.

Setting aside that there's no rule against ambushing presidents with questions, if he and his staff didn't expect those questions, they are even dumber than I thought they were. My only disappointment was that the people in the town hall didn't ask him an unexpected questions.

He's probably trying to talk about spontaneous combustion, at least as best as his scatterbrained mentality can cobble together. The bits and pieces are there, or alluded to, decomposition and material piling up but mashed together in a cargo cult kind of way, making it devoid of any substance. So spontaneous combustion becomes a kind of spontaneous exploding, in his feeble minded misunderstanding.
