No one has ever done this! Twice in one month! ⁦@realDonaldTrump⁩ has brokered yet another Peace deal in the Middle East. This time it’s Bahrain & Israel. Historic & no one more deserving of the Noble Peace Prize 2021 than our President!

Today, President Donald J. Trump was nominated for the 2021 Nobel Peace Prize for his leadership in brokering the Abraham Accords...

Um...what peace deal? They normalized relations. Neither Bahrain nor the UAE were at war with Israel.

I'm hoping the Peace Prize goes to BLM.

I think it's very likely.

Has the Mobel Peace Prize ever gone to a persom who publicizes their nomination?

And it was because of Trump's heroic actions that they felt the need to publicly remind the rest of the world of that fact.

Call me cynicle, but I have to wonder what these middle East states are hoping to accomplish by making deals with Israel at this point.

Are they trying to boost the re-election prospects of Stubby Mcbonespurs (thinking he is a useful idiot and it's better to have him in power than a democrat, who might actually work to reduce oil consumption and hold authorian states to account)?

Is it an attempt to purchase more/better weapons from the US? (e.g.. you can sell us the f35... We are peaceful.)

They're doing it so they can buy F-35 jets. More specifically, the same model of F-35s that we sell or plan to sell to Israel and the NATO allies. Congress has put provisions on military sales that we favor Israel over any potential adversaries. We sell the Gulf States weapon systems, just not ones with all the bells and whistles that Israel gets.

The Kushner boy is pushing to sell F-35s to UAE based on the fact that they are now no longer potential adversaries of Israel what with normalized relations and all.

https://www.cnn.com/2020/08/20/politics/kushner-uae-israel-f-35-fighter-jet/index.html

The logic is of course flawed. We had perfectly normal diplomatic relations with the Soviet Union for the 40 or so years we had thousands of nukes on a hair trigger pointed at each other.

Yeah but does anyone know the words to that song, apart from its catch phrases/title "Born in the USA, born and bread in the USA".

What about the circuses?

(And I’m pretty sure that ‘bred’ doesn’t appear in the lyrics either, which I guess proves your point.)

I was wondering, where is Dudalb these days, but I see he's been posting in other threads, just not this one.

The profusion of threads creates a target-rich environment. I guess this one has slowed down because there are about 106 alternative, somewhat more focused threads. It's hard to know where to post sometimes.

Subject only to State approval, our important Ethanol Industry will be allowed to use the 10% Pumps for the 15% BLEND. Thank you!

"subject to state approval" is Trump-speak for "I have no authority over this but I'm going to take credit anyway"

Can anyone explain this to someone who usually consumes ethanol in the 3.7% to 4.5% range?

ETA: I have some imperial stouts that are between 10% and 12%, but I’m saving them for special occasions.

NORTH CAROLINA: To make sure your Ballot COUNTS, sign & send it in EARLY. When Polls open, go to your Polling Place to see if it was COUNTED. IF NOT, VOTE! Your signed Ballot will not count because your vote has been posted. Don’t let them illegally take your vote away from you!

"I think there's probably, possibly drugs involved. That's what I hear." says Trump during interview with Judge Jeanine...
That's what he 'hears?" Where, from the voices in his head?

New York City must stop the Shutdown now. The Governor & Mayor are destroying the place!...

We're on Phase 4 of reopening and we're doing pretty well. Does that not even matter anymore to trump? :(

I'm surprised that John Fogerty allowed it to be used - or hasn't objected after the fact.
He has now.

last night Creedence’s former frontman issued a response in a Facebook video called “Meaning behind Fortunate Son.”

“Recently, the President has been using my song ‘Fortunate Son’ for his campaign rallies,” he began, “which I find confounding, to say the least.” He went on to explain the song’s intended message about how war only comes for poor people.

“The very first lines of ‘Fortunate Son’ are, ‘Some folks are born made to wave the flag, ooh their red, white and blue,” he said. “But when the band plays ‘Hail to the Chief,’ they point the cannon at you.’ Well that’s exactly what happened recently in Lafayette Park. When the President decided to take a walk across the park, he cleared out the area using Federal troops so that he could stand in front of St. John’s church with a Bible.”

He added: “It’s a song I could’ve written now. So I find it confusing, I would say, that that the president has chosen to use my song for his political rallies, when in fact it seems like he is probably the fortunate son.”

He's talking about biofuel, not consumable ethanol.
