This is the best article I was able to find on the subject.
Thanks. Not only does the report note:
Most troubling of all, perhaps, was a sentiment the expert said a member of Kushner’s team expressed: that because the virus had hit blue states hardest, a national plan was unnecessary and would not make sense politically. “The political folks believed that because it was going to be relegated to Democratic states, that they could blame those governors, and that would be an effective political strategy,” said the expert.

But it goes on to note the incompetence of the idea:
It soon became clear that ceding testing responsibility to the states was a recipe for disaster, not just in Democratic-governed areas but across the country.

Everyone should read that article in full. It's the story of how Trump screwed up, painful paragraph by paragraph. And given there is a number of FOA documents used in the piece, I'd bet there are hundreds more still to come out.

I'll add one to the mix if it's not yet been posted:

Trump's new coronavirus adviser uses made-up statistics and false claims to praise White House pandemic response
WASHINGTON — In a contentious interview on the BBC’s “Newshour” on Friday, the president’s new coronavirus adviser, Dr. Scott Atlas, said the United States had actually handled the coronavirus pandemic better than Europe, citing a discredited statistic of unknown origin.

In recent days, Atlas has eclipsed Dr. Anthony Fauci and Dr. Deborah Birx as Trump’s most visible, and presumably trusted, coronavirus adviser. In that role he used his appearance on the BBC to defend aspects of the president’s widely criticized response to COVID-19.

Atlas is affiliated with the conservative Hoover Institution at Stanford University. An expert in brain imaging, he has no experience with pandemic response but appears to have parlayed his frequent appearances on Fox News into a White House appointment.

The liar in chief will take anyone in to the administration that tells the lies he wants to hear.

What's really sad is, it was a BBC interview that did not go well for Dr. Scott Atlas, trump's new coronavirus adviser. The BBC. They don't have a dog in the fight. They're not CNN. But they obviously believe in honesty and integrity and they recognize bad people when they see them. How will trump attack, mock and insult the BBC? What lies will he make up?

When are trump's supporters going to wake up?

Two segments of the BBC interview that jumped out at me:
Atlas is affiliated with the conservative Hoover Institute at Stanford University. An expert in brain imaging, he has no experience with pandemic response but appears to have parlayed his frequent appearances on Fox News into a White House appointment. Confronted by the BBC interviewer regarding his lack of expertise, Atlas lashed out. “You know, I have to laugh at that,” he said, adding that it was “sort of silly” to think a virologist or immunologist was needed to deal with the pandemic.

At one point the BBC interviewer, James Menendez, noted that the United States has one of the highest coronavirus mortality rates in the world, a statistic that comes from Johns Hopkins University. “You can’t get away from that, can you?” Menendez asked. “Excuse me,” an irritated Atlas said. “You can.” He went on to say that the Johns Hopkins number was “wrong” and “incorrect.” Atlas said a better comparison was of “excess mortality,” a measure of how many more people died during a period of time than had been expected to, based on historical patterns. “Europe has done 38 percent worse than the United States in excess mortality,” he said. “No one talks about this.” Trump and Republicans have repeatedly asserted in recent weeks that excess mortality in Europe is 40 percent higher than that in the United States. The principal problem with this assertion is that it is not true. Trump appears to have simply made up the statistic, and a fact check of the claim by the Annenberg Public Policy Center found it to be false. Link to Yahoo News report about the interview

Absolutely unbelievable. This nightmare just goes on and on and on. :(

Boris Johnson's sent him a script.
What lies will he make up?
No need (see above). And that's the Far-Left Socialist BBC, by the way, that's been so wrong about climate change for decades.
When are trump's supporters going to wake up?
Rhetorical, presumably.

Trump supporters have been on a different reality plane for years. Remember "alternate facts"? I see little chance of that ever changing. It's The Trump Zone.

Trump Tweeted

The Democrats will open up their states on November 4th, the day after the Election. These shutdowns are ridiculous, and only being done to hurt the economy prior to the most important election, perhaps, in our history! #MAGA

New York City must stop the Shutdown now. The Governor & Mayor are destroying the place!

...These shutdowns are ridiculous, and only being done to hurt the economy prior to the most important election, perhaps, in our history!...

What an utterly irresponsible statement for the president of the United States to make to the American people. (I agree we're facing an important election, but not for the reasons this whackjob and his follower's believe. Or say they believe.)

Meanwhile, the American Academy of Pediatrics and the Children’s Hospital Association are collecting data on child COVID-19 cases. In a study just released they found that in August the number of cases began to rise.
70,330 new child cases reported from 8/13-8/27 (406,109 to 476,439), a 17% increase in child cases over 2 weeks. Link to American Academy of Pediatrics report summary
The data is based on reporting by twenty-two states plus New York City. Though APA cautions that severe cases of coronavirus remain relatively rare in children, in some states the number of children hospitalized is significant. In at least one state (the report summery does not identify which state) children sick with Covid-19 have an 8.5% rate for being hospitalized.
Children were 0.6%-4.1% of total reported hospitalizations, and between 0.3%-8.5% of all child COVID-19 cases resulted in hospitalization.

"Young people are almost immune to this disease. The younger, the better, I guess," Trump said during a press briefing on July 30. "Young people are almost immune. If you look at the percentage, it's a tiny percent of 1 percent. It's a tiny percent of 1 percent. So we have to have our schools open. Link to report in Newsweek magazine

Newsweek reports in the same article:
While President Donald Trump insisted that children are "almost immune" to catching COVID-19, the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) recently found that there had been a 90 percent increase in children contracting the virus over four weeks. An AAP report released on August 6 found that there had been 380,174 cases among children, representing 9.1 percent of all available cases at the time. Between July 9 and August 6, childhood cases rose overall by 90 percent. The report was based on data from 49 states, Washington, D.C., Puerto Rico and Guam.

The really nasty part is, trump's main motivation for wanting schools to fully reopen is probably that it increases his chances of getting re-elected. Everything is always about him. This has become a total nightmare! :(

That's a weird split. Ranging up to 8.5% would definitely not be considered rare in any medical situation I can think up. Is it possible the definition of hospitalization is different between states? Such as one considering the visit or an overnight stay for observation vs prolonged stay? I know parents when dealing with something new like this would consider going to the hospital much quicker for their child than themselves. Maybe that's a portion of it, but not enough to to disconnect the rhetoric from the data.

Sturgis Motorcycle Rally Is Now Linked to More Than 250,000 Coronavirus Cases

The inevitable fallout from last month’s Sturgis Motorcycle Rally, an annual event that packed nearly 500,000 people into a small town in South Dakota, is becoming clear, and the emerging picture is grim.

According to a new study, which tracked anonymized cellphone data from the rally, over 250,000 coronavirus cases have now been tied to the 10-day event, one of the largest to be held since the start of the pandemic. It drew motorcycle enthusiasts from around the country, many of whom were seen without face coverings inside crowded bars, restaurants, and other indoor establishments.

Called it, cheap Harleys in the autumn.

The number comes from an economist. Wonder if used a polynomial curve fit in Excel like Larry Kudlow.
The paper is available here.

In short, through anonymised mobile phone tracing, the estimated numbers are derived from the percentage increase in cases in the states where the participants cane from and returned to.

“In this paper we document the spread of infectious disease due to a mass gathering conducted during a pandemic against the guidance of CDC. The spread of the virus due to the event was large: we document large increases in cumulative cases relative to the synthetic counterfactual in the county of the event, and the cluster of CBGs in the county and adjoining the county over the entire post-event time period, with larger increases detected towards the end of the time period. Similarly, we find large increases statewide – with increases in the South Dakota cumulative COVID-19 caseload relative to the synthetic counterfactual that were between 3.6 and 3.9 cases per 1,000 population.

We are further able to document national spread due to the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally, although that spread also appears to have been successfully mitigated by states with strict infection mitigation policies. In counties with the largest relative inflow to the event, the per 1,000 case rate increased by 10.7 percent after 24 days following the onset of Sturgis Pre-Rally Events. Multiplying the percent case increases for the high, moderate-high and moderate inflow counties by each county’s respective pre-rally cumulative COVID-19 cases and aggregating, yields a total of 263,708 additional cases in these locations due to the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally. Adding the number of new cases due to the Rally in South Dakota estimated by synthetic control (3.6 per 1,000 population, scaled by the South Dakota population of approximately 858,000) brings the total number of cases to 266,796 or 19 percent of 1.4 million new cases of COVID-19 in the United States between August 2nd 2020 and September 2nd 2020.“

Coronavirus: Pharma firms unveil safety pledge over vaccine

A group of nine vaccine developers has announced a "historic pledge" to uphold scientific and ethical standards in the search for a coronavirus vaccine.

The firms, including Pfizer and Merck, said they would only apply for regulatory approval after vaccines went through three phases of clinical study.

I thought it would be a lot, but I find that number to be rather excessive. Not sure if I believe it.
Nothing says "freedom" like hitting the open road on a Harley - while someone tracks your phone second by second compiling location data.
