I can’t even describe the sinking feeling I got last night being attacked for being gay & just having to take it- bc if we defended ourselves the media would label us racist attackers. At least back in the day when gay bashing was common the media didn’t blame the gay ppl.

People here predicted that he would be upset by the convention ratings, and they were right. Of course, that's like predicting that the Sun will rise tomorrow.

Having given this more thought and following events of the past couple of days I have now changed my mind somewhat. I now think that the actions of the NHLPA was an effective move. They were in step and supportive with all the other Pro leagues. That united front among all pro athletes sent a powerful message to all who follow any pro sport.

I still think the statement the NHLPA issued could have been a lot more powerful but their actions count for a lot more than the statement.

I don't know anything about this particular incident, but I find myself wondering if Trump's habit of retweeting anyone who praises him might occasionally work against him with his bigotted base.

Is "been in Minnesota" a euphemism for something? It sounds like it. "How did Grandpa actually die?" "Well, he'd 'been in Minnesota', and back then the doctors didn't have a way to cure that."
