Kellyanne Conway quits.

Well, bye.

I hope she's Anonymous, and all of this family drama was engineered as a way to focus attention on her coming out party for the convention. It's much more likely that Conways are just plain evil, and they raised a brat daughter who needs extra-attention from the online world because she's not getting enough of it at home. The whole lot needs family counseling.

Hmm. In a bit of mildly amusing news...

Republican National Committee "resovlves" to keep their 2016 party platform, and it's a hoot

Stuff like "The next President must restore the public's trust in law enforcement and civil order by first adhering to the rule of law himself. Additionally, the next President must not sow seeds of division and distrust between the police and the people they have sworn to serve and protect."

Err... yes, those are fine words! I agree!

Unfortunately, then I see this.

Police shoot black man while holding his shirt at domestic disturbance call.

If you don't feel like watching... The guy was shot a bunch of times at point blank range in the back after having taken no visible violent actions towards the policeman. He's apparently dead now, after surviving long enough to be taken to the hospital.

3 in 4 Republicans say US is in better shape than four years ago: poll

John Bowden08/23/20 02:44 PM EDT

Republican voters hold a rosier view of the country's overall state compared to four years ago than do Democrats heading in to this week's Republican National Convention (RNC), a new poll finds.

A CBS News poll of registered voters nationwide found that 75 percent of Republican-identified voters say the country is better off now than it was four years ago; just 25 percent of GOP respondents said it wasn't. Overall, just 35 percent of registered voters say the country is better off while 65 percent said it wasn't.

Statement From Yale Faculty on Hydroxychloroquine and Its Use in COVID-19

We write with grave concern that too many are being distracted by the ardent advocacy of our Yale colleague, Dr. Harvey Risch, to promote the assertion that hydroxychloroquine (HCQ) when given with antibiotics is effective in treating COVID-19, in particular as an early therapeutic intervention for the disease. As his colleagues, we defend the right of Dr. Risch, a respected cancer epidemiologist, to voice his opinions. But he is not an expert in infectious disease epidemiology and he has not been swayed by the body of scientific evidence from rigorously conducted clinical trials, which refute the plausibility of his belief and arguments. Over the last few weeks, all of us have spent considerable time explaining the evidence behind HCQ research, as it applies to early and late stage COVID-19 patients to the scientific community and general public, and now are compelled to detail the evidence in this open letter.

"I'm the President, and the greatest Election Fraud in our history is about to happen under my watch! Vote for me even though I can't even safeguard the elections!"

WH chief of staff Mark Meadows today on Trump:

“The president is not only well-prepared, but reads so much that it causes me to have to read many times well into the night to catch up with him.”

I'll never get how someone can give up a safe House seat to become ... this (whatever this is).

“You know, the greatest election fraud since the last fraudulent election (that I won).”
