Not sure what you mean. Swoop quotes his tweets and retweets. What was it that was untrue in any of those?

Nothing but.....

There has been an extended discussion in this thread whether referring to someone as "honey" in a Tweet is sexist. If it is, then President Trump was being sexist and/or racist (like this would be news )

I suppose there's a question whether there's a material difference between tweeting and retweeting possibly sexist material.

In the case of the post which triggered the discussion, this was President Trump re-tweeting another post rather than creating the original, possibly sexist and/or racist Tweet.

My personal view is that President Trump has already said that his Twitter feed is part of the official White House communication mechanism. As such, I think there really shouldn't be a difference between tweets and retweets. Of course if President Trump accidentally retweets something sexist and/or racist then than just shows what a lazy careless individual he is (like this would be news )

Personally I think the President of the most powerful nation on Earth should be held to a much higher standard on one of his official communications channels than a significant other sharing a cat video. In today's world, maybe I'm in the minority :(

I didn’t say nor hint that anything was untrue. It’s just that, as I said yesterday, I can’t tell because of the formatting who said what. Like what you replied to and I quoted, I’m reading a block of quoted text and Trump said none of it.

Of course he said none of it. He has retweets what other people have said. A retweet is basically a forwarding.

Swoop's post was quite clear, and mine made the point that Trump is so busy tweeting and retweeting that he's not actually doing anything of what he's been hired to do.

I googled a couple of those and they were written by the other people as listed. Where does "retweet" fall on the list of actually doing something? These seem to be like my wife sharing a cat video "at" me - I don't like it, but he's not actually writing any of this content, right?
A retweet is an unambiguous endorsement.

But I'm not sure I'm following the plot. Are we talking re-tweets, or random people tweeting things @ Trump? If the latter, I share your objection.

He’s probably not even reading most of it.

Unambiguous endorsement seems a little strong, but ok. As Mojo notes above, I doubt that he even reads most of it. Anything over five seconds and forget about it. He has no attention span for a multisentence tweet or two minute video or whatever. He just blurts things out like someone with Tourette’s syndrome

I’m not sure about the second part.

I bet that you can't find so much as one retweet from a major political figure where it's plausible that the re-tweeter disagrees with the content.

I assume that was the point.

Trump to pardon Susan B. Anthony, key member of the Women's Suffrage Movement, who was arrested in 1872 for illegally voting at a time when only men were allowed to vote. Tuesday marks the 100th Anniversary of the 19th Amendment, which gave women the Constitutional Right to vote.

I bet that wasn't his idea. :) It seems quite clever, loved by the anti-abortion crowd for no very good reason, but can't be objected to by the left.

Hopefully she will enjoy her new-found freedom.

(I have to admit, I'm surprised she hadn't been pardoned before....)

I think that says a lot... Trump pardons both long-dead civil rights activists (why not? They're dead so its mostly symbolic) and his cronies, yet cracks down on current protesters.

I don't think he really thinks he can be president for 12 years - he just likes saying outrageous stuff because it gets him headlines and causes libs' heads to asplode.

Then again, maybe he thinks he should be President for 12 years because he's the best president ever.

President Trump says a bunch of stuff. I honestly think that he doesn't know, or care, what he says and the impact it has.

I don't think we can assume (I'm not saying you were) that he isn't well aware whether the **** that he throws up against the wall sticks or not.

There's that, but... remember Trump's style. A heck of a lot of the time, he tells people what he wants to happen, but without directly ordering them to do it. The extended Presidency/ Presidency for Life is fairly certainly what he WANTS to happen, and his comments should probably be understood in that light, even if *currently* it would be illegal.
