I haven't been paying attention to the news over the past several days (need to take a break from it every once in a while), but I'm going to take a wild guess and say that Merkel said something Trumpypoo didn't like?

The meltdown continues as his Coronavirus briefings begin to go off the rails.
Just over a week after he began a rebooted effort, driven by rising infection rates and sinking poll numbers, to talk about the virus in terms more in line with medical consensus, Mr. Trump was again making unfounded claims and defending discredited medical experts. It was the sort of eccentric, science-deficient performance that many of his aides believe unnerved the public during the spring and has come to gravely threaten his re-election prospects.

But on Tuesday, he resumed his freelancing and wandering into politically and medically problematic alleyways. When reporters pressed him on a viral video he had retweeted on Monday night that included doctors falsely claiming that hydroxychloroquine was a “cure” for the virus and that masks were unnecessary, Mr. Trump responded: “They’re very respected doctors. There was a woman who was spectacular in her statements about it, and she’s had tremendous success with it.’’ When a reporter noted that the physician who spoke of “a cure,” Dr. Stella Immanuel of Houston, also “made videos saying that doctors make medicine using DNA from aliens,” Mr. Trump responded, “I know nothing about her,” and abruptly ended the briefing moments later. Earlier in the 'press conference,' trump complained about Drs. Anthony Fauci and Deborah Birx polling higher approval ratings while trump's decline. trump told the press, Fauci and Birx are "highly thought of — but nobody likes me. It can only be my personality.”

Yet there are people who find this entity 'God-like.' What the hell is going on in this country? :(

Major China Virus flare ups in many of the countries that the Fake News was touting as doing so well. Some of these countries are now a disaster. Lamestream Media doesn’t want to report this. Also, highly inaccurate numbers being reported by many other countries!!! @WSJ

Mail-In Voting is already proving to be a catastrophic disaster. Even testing areas are way off. The Dems talk of foreign influence in voting, but they know that Mail-In Voting is an easy way for foreign countries to enter the race. Even beyond that, there’s no accurate count!
 
President Trump is calling for the 2020 election to be delayed:

Donald Trump has called for November's presidential election to be postponed, saying increased postal voting could lead to fraud and inaccurate results.

He suggested a delay until people can "properly, securely and safely" vote.

There is little evidence to support Mr Trump's claims but he has long railed against mail-in voting which he has said would be susceptible to fraud

Next time, when Germany signs up for a multi-lateral military alliance, they should just sign up for automatic payments with a credit card. That would save them the embarrassment of being delinquent on their fees.

No, the election is mandated in the Constitution. It would literally require an amendment, so state-by-state ratification in 2/3 of states. It’s not going to happen, any more than Trump is going to “start acting presidential.”

With Universal Mail-In Voting (not Absentee Voting, which is good), 2020 will be the most INACCURATE & FRAUDULENT Election in history. It will be a great embarrassment to the USA. Delay the Election until people can properly, securely and safely vote???

Well that's good to hear. :)

I guess the next best solution for President Trump and the GOP is to limit postal voting wherever they can and to make is nigh on impossible for people in Democratic leaning districts in swing states to cast their votes.

And when the red states side with Trump instead of the Constitution and refuse to hold the election, then what?
 
An election isn't something you can go "We technically won."

If Trump convinces a high enough percentage of his cultists that the election is invalid, then it's invalid.

We can't have a functioning democracy if 40% of people think the Deep State rigged the election against Trump.
 
150,000 deaths, unemployment benefit expiring, and the worst economic quarter in 100 years. So Trump tweets something crazy to distract everyone. Go ahead and waste your time seriously analyzing it; you may as well study your navel.
 
If it were me, I'd want to see them kicked out of DC for the term. Alabama don't want a vote, Alabama don't get a vote. They can have their chair back in four years.

But that would basically be "instant civil war."

The alternative, that the Dems whine and pundits scream but everyone meekly goes along with it to keep the peace, is where I'd put my money.

Presumably neither candidate would reach 270 electoral votes. The House then votes for POTUS and the Senate votes for VP. We could get President Biden and VP Trump!

"But he's only doing it to distract us!" is valid, but if it works on his followers isn't the whole story.

Yeah he can destroy the country to distract us from his failures. I'd still rather he didn't.
