Cont: The Trump Presidency: Part 23

Heres how I divided things up:

Democratic governors (and mayor of DC) where I think Biden will win: CA, CO, CT, DE, HI, IL, MA, MI, MN, NV, NM, NJ, NY, OR, PA, RI, VA, WA, WI, DC. Thats 251 electoral votes that should be in Biden's favor that cannot be electionereed by the GOP.
1 more state, NC is basically a toss-up with a dem governor, thats 15 votes.
MA, NH, MD, and VT are all states with republican governors, but I don't believe any of them are Trump supporters. Thats 28 votes. Which gives Biden 279 without NC, or 294 with it. This means that given no surprises Biden doesn't need to depend on FL or AZ. Which is a good thing, since I suspect those governors may play games, like refuse to certify their electoral college votes.

Secretary of State certifies results in AZ.

What's maddening is both Supreme Court rulings, while denying outright the concept of "absolute immunity", kicked the cases back down the chain for the lower courts to hear other arguments besides that one. It sure seems if there were other arguments, they should have made them before now.

But it's undoubtedly at least a short term "win" for Trump, whose goal is always delay, delay, delay. This retrying of the cases in the lower courts will almost certainly push any resolution past election day, maybe well beyond.

Sigh.

For the good of the country, Biden needs to win decisively. Even though the EC is the EC, he should strive to get at least as many votes EC votes as Trump in 2016. Minimum.

I'll give them this it is funny and viewed as a comedy sketch it works.
It gave me a laugh.

Interesting thing about Lincoln Project ads. They range from absolute parody to grim reality.

Have one from the opposite end of that scale. Entitled "Debt" it does not go where one might think.

Reading about Katie Hobbs, makes me feel a bit better about AZ and Biden's chances.

AZ is still red, but they have done some good things. For example, redistricting is done by a non-partisan commission. Republicans try to take it to court all the time; I'm sure they will after the 2020 census.

ETA: The idiot legislature and governor are still republican, and the governor (Ducey) has managed to screw the pooch so many times I'm not sure it can even bark anymore.

In AZ, I think Biden might win on Mark Kelly's coat tails. Kelly is polling double digits over McSally. Of course, Arizona is another one of those states where the "Let the old people die" strategy for Covid 19 doesn't play well.

AZ, per capita, has the worst outbreak of COIVD-19 in the country right now... maybe the world? So, that could be a double edged sword against the GOP. Older people pissed off that the GOP's strategy of just let them die to save the economy, plus fewer of them alive to vote :eye-poppi

I think AZ will go blue.

Trump is already resorting to fear tactics for his campaign, running an add with a fake 911 recording saying there's no one there to answer because Biden defunded the police. It's disgusting.

Nice, going for the triple lie! The president cannot defund federal spending (thats illegal, kinda central to the impeachment investigation), federal spending is only a small % of overall police spending in the USA anyways, and Biden has not called for the police to be defunded.

"Funny" that the scary images in the ad predicting what Biden's America will look like are indeed from Trump's America.

Already?

Doesn’t that imply there was a period when he wasn’t?
