I remember a political cartoon back in 2004, after President Bush announced his plans for a manned Mars mission. It showed President Bush doing a countdown while sitting in a ramshackle space capsule labeled "Mars or Bust", perched on a pile of debris in the middle of a junkyard that was labeled "US Economy".

How dangerous is it that the Trumpanzee GOP neutered the FEC? I fear that Trump and his republicans may steal the election since they removed the referees.

In truth, USA has the 9th highest mortality rate from corona virus in the world.

7th if you don't count micronations like Andorra and San Marino.

And the countries above it have the infection under control, and are only experiencing a handful of deaths per day, while the USA still counts their dead in the hundreds.

Looking at the mortality rate, Trump really should have nothing to brag about. Especially considering the infection rate has skyrocketed in the last week, and deaths usually trail 2-3 weeks behind the infections.

But according to trump the moon is a part of Mars! So, mission accomplished?

This seems like a bizarre out-of-nowhere post. (I assume some campaign staffer thought they needed a distraction from all the trump dumpster fires and thought "this might be a positive message".

Although if trump is volunteering to be shot into space on a mars mission I doubt many here would object. (Spacesuit not required)

That's the overall mortality rate though. He's probably taking about the mortality rate in the past week, past day, or past hour.

All of that "credit" is wiped out if she says anything mean about President Trump and she immediately becomes an enemy of the state. L'etat est moi !

Exactly! With this delay, a rising incidence rate will automatically show a reduced death rate. And vice versa.

I think Croatian-born Nikola Tesla was too.

For the World Wars, we (USA) sat out the first half of both so yes the other Allied forces should get the credit they deserve. I never like it when we Americans state that we won the wars, or we saved France, Britain, et al from becoming German.

Considering the FEC has done little to curtail any of the crap the GOP has pulled to date suggests that gutting it isn't likely to make much difference.

I know Tucker Carlson is a noted racist and Trump boot-licker, and probably doesn't really use any sort of logic or reasoning...

But is there a particular reason he targeted her? Did she make a notable media appearance lately? Was she involved in some law congress was passing? The possibility she may become Biden's VP pick? Or was Carlson just attacking Democrats in general and Duckworth's name stood out?

(Again, I know Trumpanzees don't act rationally, but in some cases you can point to things that trigger them.)
