For this to work, he'd need strong credibility outside his base. I doubt he has that.

After watching the FDA Commissioner on CNN refuse to say Trump was incorrect when he claimed 99% of people have minimal impact from the virus, I wouldn't trust these guys to tell me the sky is blue and the sun rose in the east.

Or he’d need people so desperate after 10 months of restrictions that they’d be willing to suspend their skepticism. And remember, not everyone in the US has a great deal of well-practiced skepticism in the first place.

Plus, a few weeks before the announcement, they would go to sick people and say, we are trying a new drug called Trumpizin, would you like some? Many people who then recover would loudly and incessantly credit the drug.

And if I can take my morality sub-routines offline for a bit.
They could start a rumor that some of the the side-effects are weight loss, hair growth, and improved memory. Of course President Snake Oil wouldn’t be able to stop there and would add that it whitens teeth, speeds bone healing, and makes it easier to detect cancer. Oh, who am I kidding, he’d claim that it straightens teeth, regrows limbs, and cures cancer.

I have told some lies in my time (yes, I know you're surprised!), but there's one thing that I would never do, and that is lie for someone else. If you want to spread lies and misinformation to other people, do it yourself! I don't know how these bastards who lie for Trump can be proud of themselves and sleep soundly at night when they're spreading lies that are killing people! They can all catch it and die!

What does Wallace have to apologize for? From what I understand about the whole affair he was pretty much a bystander. He didn't find the noose. He didn't report it. And he wasn't responsible for the various and sundry reactions to its discovery. Sure, he commented on it, but that was because he was asked to.

Also, NASCAR ratings are up 8%.

Trump said the ratings are down. That means the ratings are down. What are we going to bring reality into this discussion? We can't do that anymore. At least not in anyway that matters.

What's interesting is that a significant portion of Trump's base seems to believe that a vaccine would be some sort of Gates/Soros/demonic/globalist plot, and will refuse to get one.
