What is the 'Monuments and Statues Act' as cited by Trump?

Does he think he created an 'Act'?

Yes, he does. He signed an executive order to protect monuments and statues. I'm sure the motivation is to protect the symbols of white supremacy.

A signal to his followers that if the those dirty libruls and blacks that don't know their place try to take down one of those statues and you stop them and thing... go badly for them you'll be in the clear legally.

Never mind the inaccuracies in the story (i.e . There was other evidence besides the cash... Such as interviews with Afghanistan prisoners)...

I wonder how members of the intelligence community feel about their work being denigrated like that. (Not that Trump hasn't done so many times before... See Russia, 2016 election.) That type of attitude doesn't spark a lot of loyalty. Hopefully career officials will be willing to throw trump under the bus... A suppressed briefing document slipped to the media, an officer testifying to the house intelligence committee about "yeah, I told him on this day..."

Well, not to Godwin this ... much ... but one reason not much recognized for Hitler's downfall was that he was on bad terms with his intelligence agency. During WW2, Nazi Germany had some of the poorest intelligence service in history.

One of Trump's most dangerous mistakes (for him) is that he alienates his intelligence services. They are almost certainly waiting for a really good chance to get back on him.

Not really Godwinning it since you didn't compare anyone to or call anyone Hitler.

The name "Benedict Donald" applies today more then every.
If proven, the damage this will do to morale in the US military will be devasting. The POTUS looked the other way as US servicemen were killed.

That is *really* unfair on Benedict Arnold.

Traditionally, presidents get a library named for them. Imagine how empty Trump's will be.

Oh, I was thinking about the Trump presidential library. Maybe it could hold a load of iffy VHS tapes.

All of Trump’s tweets could be stored on a rather small hard drive. No need for a building at all. A used shoe box would suffice.

Twitch has suspended the Trump campaign's account after they posted videos violating its policies. Offending videos included a rebroadcast of a 2016 campaign rally and a recording of the Tulsa rally small gathering.

"In line with our policies, President Trump's channel has been issued a temporary suspension from Twitch for comments made on stream, and the offending content has been removed," said Brielle Villablanca, a Twitch spokesperson.
The content that Twitch said violated its policies on hate included a video of Trump's 2016 campaign rally in which he called Mexicans rapists and criminals. Video of that rally was recently rebroadcast on Twitch, the company said.
Another video that Twitch said violated its policies was video of Trump's recent Tulsa rally, in which Trump spoke hypothetically of "a very tough hombre" breaking into the house of a "young woman."

True. Before he got pissed off at the Continental Congress and turned traitor, he was actually a very good general who contributed to several Continental victories. The fact the Washington gave him command of West Point demonstrates how well regarded he was. Trump has never contributed a damn thing to this country.

From Cracked's "6 Historical Villains Who Were Actually Okay Guys"

When you look at pre-treachery Arnold, what you find is an almost comical beacon of good old-fashioned American virtue. After his mother died, he single-handedly supported his sister and suicidally alcoholic father; he enlisted to fight off a French invasion when he was 15; he grew up to be a successful capitalist and family man. If he'd fought a duel against somebody for using "Yankee" as an insult, he would've been the ultimate American. What, he did that? Never mind then.

Then there was his record during the revolution. He planned and led the famous siege of Fort Ticonderoga. Somewhere around here his wife died, but he soldiered on, masterminding the strategic invasion of Quebec, where he held position for weeks despite being cut off from the rest of the army and shot in the leg. He held back the British at Lake Champlain, he was instrumental in the Danbury raid, he was essential to the success of the Battle of Saratoga. If he fell off a bridge and died at this point, there would be a 50-foot tall statue of him in Connecticut, made of platinum and diamonds.

We are tracking down the two Anarchists who threw paint on the magnificent George Washington Statue in Manhattan. We have them on tape. They will be prosecuted and face 10 years in Prison based on the Monuments and Statues Act. Turn yourselves in now!

and here is all the Defense Attorney needs to ask for a mistrial.

They’re already hiding things from him by putting them in written briefings.

From that article:

[McEnany] also defended Mr Trump when questioned whether the president reads his intelligence reports, saying he "does read and also consumes intelligence verbally".

Ah, so that's why intelligence is in such short supply at the Trump Administration.

The latest from the Lincoln Project.

Betrayed

Any Commander in Chief with a spine would be stomping the living **** out of some Russians now: Diplomatically, economically, or if necessary, the same kind of asymmetric warfare they're using to send our troops home in body bags . . .
