Cont: The Trump Presidency: Part 23

Sounds like BS. US commandos and intelligence officials uncovered this plot on the ground there, according to the accounts I have read.

If this Russian bounty system is actually real, it's entirely possible that they learned about it from several sources. The Iranians probably would have passed it to a different agency than the people on the ground in Afghanistan.

Converging lines of evidence like this is part of how you determine what's real and what's fake in intelligence work.

Kayleigh McEninny just lied to us again. She claimed the reason the 'bounty' report wasn't brought to Trump's attention is because there "was no consensus among the intelligence agencies". That's a lie. Things of this importance are presented to the president where s/he will hear from both sides as to its probability.

What this is really all about is protecting Trump's failure to address it and his claim he didn't know about it.

Her job is to be full of ****, and to spew that **** at the pleasure of our Commander Inept. So either the entire administration is as inept as he, or they're all lying or . . . well of course it is both, and worse. What's worst is this will come to nothing; his paid sycophants will sycophant, the republicans will deflect and deny, and his 40% will remain as stupidly loyal as ever.

Think this will cost him any support in the military?

As recently as last year his support among active duty troops dropped below 50% which is insane for a Republican President and doubly insane for a Republican President who bangs porn stars and wants a Space Force.

95% Approval Rating of President Trump in the Republican Party. I would imagine the 5% are the RINOS’ and stupid people who don’t want to see great Judges & Supreme Court Justice’s, a new & powerful Military, Choice for Vets, 2A Protection, big RegulationCuts, Life, & much more!
Trump is saying that he has two sets of GOP supporters, two 'baskets' as it were: one group supports him completely, the other is a basket of deplorables...

It's more an invention that "consensus among the intelligence agencies" is an established benchmark. If that ever existed it went out in Bush Jr's days. "The intelligence agencies" - how many are there now? If Homeland Security has no opinion, how does that impact the "consensus"? Who judges?

Not this President, apparently. I can understand why an intelligence agency might conceal this information from Trump because they don't want Putin to know that they have it.

It's a ripple on a very choppy sea, but it will divert a little bit more of his attention from an effective election strategy.

I do, yes. It's yet another thing many will not be able to stomach.

Trump’s Actions Rattle the Military World: ‘I Can’t Support the Man’

The president’s threat to use troops against largely peaceful protesters, as well as other attempts to politicize the military, have unsettled a number of current and former members and their families.

I agree that, in Trump's case, that could well be. But I was referring to KE's false implication that it's the norm not to present things to a POTUS if there are dissenting opinions.

A month that will go down in history. In June alone, the stable genius and his minions...

1. Violently attacked peaceful protesters, calling them terrorists
2. Put on his surreal display with the bible
3. Slapped down by SecDef, former SecDef, chairman joint chiefs
4. Conducted super-spreader events in blatant defiance of his own task force, treating pandemic with the integrity of Baghdad Bob
5. Naked thumbs up to white supremacists
6. Scandalous purge of DOJ
7. Revealed as traitorous Putin lapdog, yet again

And there's still 2 days left!

I really do think history will not be kind to Trump. I think he'll come to be seen as the most corrupt and divisive president in history. Even Lincoln was not divisive in and of himself; it was the slavery issue that was so divisive. Trump, on the other hand, personally fuels divisiveness for his own ends.

Trump and a good chunk of his supporters are various flavors of apocalyptic nihilists. They aren't worried about how history is going to judge them.

We are stupid as a species. Our attempts to deal with global warming have been pathetic. We have need to fight wars. We have a need to 'develop' land that puts other species in peril. This is the next mass extinction in progress right now.
As a species we have a tendency for stupidity, i agree.
I'm not sure that it's always a negative trait though,
failing stuff and having to think and try again could be a positive one, might even be what makes us what we are.
we are a species with the luxury to make mistakes and learn from them after all, I don't think there are that many others.

I wonder if anything will ever be named after Trump.

Either infrastructure (like Reagan airport or Clinton airport), or military hardware (like the George HW Bush or Gerald Ford aircraft carriers, or the Jimmy Carter submarine.) Heck, even Nixon has a couple of schools named after him.

A YT video this morning from Beau of the Fifth Column mentioned that Soliemeni (probably bad spelling), upon learning of the Russian bounty thing, warned US officials. This makes extra delicious the irony of Iran issuing a warrant on Drumpf, knowing that Drumpf's target was more concerned with US troops than was said trrops' 'Commander in Chief.'
Just out of curiosity, who is this "Beau" and why exactly should anyone believe him? I have never heard of him before....

Does he have some sort of reputation for accuracy? For breaking stories?

A youtube channel does not instill a lot of confidence as a source.
