If the Trump administration believes that COVID.is not a valid reason to vote by mail, then can we expect to see President Trump walking into a polling place to cast his ballot in person? That would really do a lot to help America understand how safe voting in person will be.

No, he will fill out an absentee ballot registered to an address he does not live at, is in fact not a residence, and the ballot will likely have passed through the hands of 3rd party couriers.
None of these examples of fraud and tampering should concern anyone, naturally.

Sasha Baron Cohen (probably most famous in the US for Borat) just trolled a totally-not-Nazis right-wing militia. He posed as a last-minute big donor for a rally, paid for a stage, music, and security, then turned up as the lead singer of the last band. Sang massively racist songs and got the crowd clapping, cheering, and singing along. When they realised they were being trolled, they tried to get him off the stage, but since he paid for security, the security protected him.
