He'll claim it's for health reasons. I hope he doesn't do it to spend more time with his family. Baron doesn't deserve that.

Are you a registered Republican? Have you ever donated money to any right-leaning cause? Do you subscribe to any right-leaning publications or web sites? Do you live in a neighborhood with a high Repub population? Have you ever bought stuff that Repubs like to buy (whatever that might be)? The Trump marketing operation is pretty sophisticated. But getting free Trump tickets doesn't require any ID verification. Nobody stole your name.

Also thinking about the whole TikTok reservation thing... Assuming the tactic worked, the responsibility is ultimately on the shoulders of the Trump campaign.

A simple analysis of the data from the reservations would have revealed a huge number of fake reservations. If they had done a simple analysis, they would have maybe not been touting how many reservations were made (despite a huge chunk having no intention of showing up), scaring off some people who would have attended.

Or they DID do an analysis and decided it was better to just advertise their huge numbers without considering the consequences of that.

Either way, they are stupid.

We know there's no chance of that, don't we? The real and serious question is what will he do in the desperate last weeks of the campaign, and what will he do when he loses?

At this point, it's not about getting a straight answer out of Trump. We all know that's never going to happen (even if he tried to give a straight answer. He's just physically incapable of that).

What it is about is providing fodder for anti-Trump attack ads. I guarantee you, someone at the Lincoln Project is editing that "I told them to slow down the testing" line into a video right now. And if we can back that up with Trump ignoring a question about why he's "joking" about the pandemic, it's a double-whammy. He's either serious, and hence evil, or joking, and hence insensitive and evil. They'll get him going and coming.

No one ad or quote will win this for the good guys, so we need to hit him with everything we can, and making him squirm with awkward questions is the best way to force an opening to attack him. Every single time he says something stupid like this, we need to leap on it and make him defend his stupidity, and then put it all in an ad.

Yeah, I was thinking I've never seen him not wearing his tie properly (for him) with his shirt buttoned up. If he were anyone else I might almost feel sorry for him.

- limit the tickets that can be ordered at one time to 2 (ie no big orders). For people wanting to order more provide a phone contact for people to call in
- do email verification of orders
- use cookies and IP address checks to make it harder to re-order from the same computer

It would not eliminate the problem of people making "fake" orders but it would slow it down. (If you have to jump through hoops to order tickets you can't use you will be less likely to try.)

They don't wanna restrict reservations, let alone make people jump through hoops. The Trumpers have used these rally tickets primarily as a data-gathering system. They want as much as they can get. But nobody is guaranteed a rally seat. In Tulsa they set up a big outdoor overflow site, but didn't use it when the "million": didn't show up.

I can't find it at the moment, but I saw something a few minutes ago from Trump's campaign manager Brad Parscale saying it did not work, had no effect. He also wants to ban the press from rallies because they showed empty seats.

I just noticed in a clip of his drinking water from a glass that he has his pinky under the glass. Who holds a glass that way? Maybe a guy who's not confident of the strength of his fingers?
 
The Trump administration has little or no experience when it comes to checking facts, data, or statistics.
Up until now, there has never been a significant cost with using inaccurate information.

Forget that last part, I asked my wife and she says she does that; then I just found myself doing it!

He tosses away a half-full glass after sipping. I suspect that's because he can only tilt the glass to about 45 degrees. Once it is half empty, he can no longer drink with one hand.
