I don't think so. He didn't want to be the papal nuncio to the US. From the same article I linked earlier:

This 'man of God' is just a liar, a cheat and a whack a doodle. You know, like Trump.

This just raises the question... why was he sent to the US as an ambassador instead of "fired" completely after that?

I find it so amazing that there are so many cases of police brutality/over-reach during these protests... Cops deflating tires, pushing protesters to the ground, etc.

You can understand Trump screwing up... He is a complete moron. But you would figure the cops would be smart enough to engage in some self-preservation. To realize that they are under a microscope right now, and any sort of abuses are going to make their critics say "look I was right .. cops are bad".

Having seen cops in many police departments do this exact same thing over the years, and then act shocked when people end up hating them, I would not have figured that at all.

(It's worse than that, though - these tactics never prove to be effective, often goading people into starting fires, or in the worst cases simply shooting cops outright. We know, and have for decades, that deescalating means talking to people, not dressing up like North Korean military, etc. That crap is for serious riot control, not people waving signs and chanting.)

It has been suggested that we should rename as many as 10 of our Legendary Military Bases, such as Fort Bragg in North Carolina, Fort Hood in Texas, Fort Benning in Georgia, etc. These Monumental and very Powerful Bases have become part of a Great American Heritage, and a...

...history of Winning, Victory, and Freedom. The United States of America trained and deployed our HEROES on these Hallowed Grounds, and won two World Wars. Therefore, my Administration will not even consider the renaming of these Magnificent and Fabled Military Installations...

...Our history as the Greatest Nation in the World will not be tampered with. Respect our Military!

I wonder if The Trump thinks that those soldiers were heroic because they trained at bases named after infamous traitors?

To be able to do riot control, first you have to provoke a riot.

Much as I regret it, and much as I hate his high-flown language, I think he has a point. These people became 'traitors' mainly because the other side won. They are part of US history. You don't learn from history by deleting it.

They became traitors by fighting a war against the USA.
If they had won they would still have been traitors.

Since April, the @USCG and the @USNavy have stopped more than 94,000 pounds of cocaine and 9,200 pounds of marijuana from being smuggled into the U.S.

And the Trump family didn’t ask the Federal government for money to carry this and many other very expensive to carry properties!

Last night, History Channel kept running a commercial talking about the amazing job Trump has done revitalizing the economy and the millions of "new" jobs. I guess it fits in with the shows about Bigfoot and ancient aliens.

It doesn't have anything at all to do with "deleting history". Anyone studying American History or the Civil War will learn about the various achievements and failures of those Confederate leaders.

It has to do with honoring them by giving the their names to major American military bases. This is an implicit (if not explicit) admission that what they did was worth admiration.

These names would be buried in the morass of history anyway (not "deleted") if they hadn't taken up arms against their country. Most of them in violation of their sworn oaths to defend the U.S. Traitors and oathbreakers. That is their history.

If service to the country was enough then we would have bases named for Benedict Arnold, without whose decisive leadership the American Revolutionary War would very probably have been lost to the British.

Yeah, after he was sorely mistreated by the Continental Congress he decided to quit being a victim to them, but does that "delete" the history of his significant achievements?

I'd rather see a U.S. military base named in his honor than Confederate generals who led troops against their own countrymen simply to preserve their right to own other humans as chattel.

Figures like that ar only depressing, when you know that they represent only (the figure varies from country to country), 1% of imports that made it over the border. I like the way the marijuana imports are a fraction of the cocaine imports. Usually it would be the other way around, IIRC.

He’s really pushing that Dead Cat Bounce in the job market as some kind of miracle he engineered. His only hope is to convince the stupid. He might, given that polls still show people think he’s better on the economy than Biden for some reason.

And the Trump stupidity continues...

From: CNN
President Donald Trump's campaign is demanding CNN retract and apologize for a recent poll that showed him well behind presumptive Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden.

Looks like USA's democracy is now at level of Venezuela.

BS. Since when not honoring scumbags means deleting history about them?

1) Now in real numbers. AFAIK nobody deals in pounds of drugs. Not even criminals.

2) How do they know how much was NOT smuggled in? They would never know how much was smuggled until it was actually smuggled...and then caught. So this is really just a guess?

3) From point (2), how much WAS smuggled in? As in, how much did they miss? Any guesses on that also?

4) Conversely, how much ELSE was not smuggled in? A packet of aspirin? A boatload of murder-hornets? A plane-load of snakes? A cardboard model of Nelson's column from the inside??

And I note the odd relationship between the weights of drugs. 43 tonnes is a LOT of cocaine, but 4 tonnes of dope is not that huge. So perchance a lot more dope got through unnoticed? Or it was noticed but was not worth anybody's time to stop? ETA: partially ninja'd!
