Yep. I suspect the majority of people who voted for trump 'disapproved' of him. They just disapproved of him less than Hillary.

We all watched the Never Trumpers turn into expert Trump asslickers.

Like I said he's already planted the seed of "Deep state, fake votes" pretty deep had with his followers. I can see him doing a passive aggressive version of a "Leader in Exile" routine.

Why would there be any doubt? He is absolutely NOT going away, win or lose. If he loses he'll continue holding rallies and claiming the election was rigged until he's dead. Or maybe longer.

And tweeting, of course.

My expectation is that he'll go back to Plan A, which is to establish a right-wing media empire.

Basically, my model about what happened in 2016 is that he expected to lose, but all that free publicity is a great platform launch party. Then the unexpected happened and he won the presidency, and has been shooting from the hip ever since.

So, if he loses, "Whew, now where was I, oh, right, pundit time. And steaks. I saw some fall of the back of a truck on the way over, let's grab those and sell them as Trump Premium Platinum Member steaks."
 
I am suspicious of Romney's conversion to BLM.

He has had academic papers written on his racism.

I think he is doing it to wind Trump up.
 
If Romney doesn't get credit because all he did was a purely meaningless symbolic gesture that had zero chance of effecting Trump then so has the entire Democrat Party for about 3 years now.

He "clapped back" at Trump just like Pelosi. He should be given the same credit.

Maybe he is doing it to annoy trump.

Maybe he is doing it for political purposes.. (perhaps trying to benefit from shifts in society and demographics in order to position himself better in future political campaigns... E.g appeal to minorities in case he runs for president again

Or maybe his beliefs have changed over time. Seeing racism embodied in trump might cause a person to rethink their beliefs... (I.e. "am I like that? Maybe I should change.")

Again, my impression is they're not telling us they want, but that they want to disband/abolish the force as it currently is, and replace it with something with a higher degree of medics and social workers.

No one is seriously suggesting they have no police force, and that social workers or paramedics respond to school shootings to kindly ask the perp to stop shooting up the school.

I think the plain reading of the words in the second quotation from my post from which you quoted the quote above means just that. While I'm happy for clarification if I'm reading more into it than there is, I'd also strongly encourage everyone to be crystal clear in what they say. I think the word "replace" does a better job than "disband" would in the sentence, "Let's replace the current police dept" you mean put something better in its place.

Almost wish he did that...

It would split the right wing/low information demographic currently dominated by Fox News, and could conceivably cut Fox's ratings considerably. End result might be a big loss of profits for the network and Murdoch. (Given Fox's role in Trump's success it would be nice to see them suffer at the hands of their creation.)

The same dying demographic will also be split with the rising fascists at OAN.

Media makes sense for Trump. What he craves more than money or power is attention.

I'm less optimistic about that. Entertainment doesn't always split.

There's a saying in entertainment that the only competition is a hack actor.

What that means is, if people like what you're producing, they get an appetite for more. The market expands and there's room for everybody who's doing 'good' work.

I would argue that acting is what he's been doing all his life, and only in the last decade did he recognize his calling.

We may never know, but I suspect The Apprentice (a show where he played the role of a businessman - and finally got paid for it!) was his main source of income for years.

Agreed. By using that title, they did Trump/conservatives a huge favor and harmed themselves at the same time.

...Crooked Hillary Clinton in 2016. They are called SUPPRESSION POLLS, and are put out to dampen enthusiasm. Despite 3 ½ years of phony Witch Hunts, we are winning, and will close it out on November 3rd!
