Sleepy Joe Biden’s 1994 Crime Bill was a total disaster. It was mass incarceration for Black people, many of them innocent. I did Criminal Justice Reform, something Obama & Biden didn’t even try to do - & couldn’t do even if they did try. Biden can never escape his Crime Bill!

So great to have Michael home. Just arrived. Very exciting. Thank you to Iran. Don’t wait until after U.S. Election to make the Big deal. I’m going to win. You’ll make a better deal now!

It did very little. Reducing drug sentences from 20 to 15 years. W Barr seems to have done some good during coronavirus.

Says the **** who took out a full page advertisement space to call for the execution of five innocent ethnic minority men. And still won’t admit he is wrong. Of course because thats a stated way he operates.

Trump has put a fence around the White House.

Already being criticized.
The new fortification—which a Secret Service source told Fox News is “standard anti-riot fencing and ranges from seven feet to more than nine feet high”—comes amid days of largely peaceful protests outside the White House. Last Friday, after some of those demonstrating against systemic racism and police brutality breached temporary fences near the White House, Trump and his family were whisked into a secure bunker—a sore spot for the president, who has spent days now trying to convince everyone that he wasn’t rattled by the episode and that he’s actually super brave. On Monday, he more or less declared war on protesters in the Rose Garden and made a show of walking off the White House grounds to a historic church that had been damaged in the demonstrations. But the tough-guy act was undermined by the fact that he used chemical agents and rubber bullets on peaceful protesters to clear the way for the stunt. Foiled in his initial attempt to save face, he tried a new tack on Wednesday: Claiming, hilariously, that he had actually only gone down to the bunker for an “inspection” of the space. Vanity Fair

I remain convinced that Trump thinks he's a movie president. Not a president as good-looking as a movie star, though he thinks that too, he really thinks he's an actor playing a role and not the actual president of the actual country. It's nothing but 'ratings' and 'backstage' and 'limelight'. His being old probably helps with the delusion but it explains why he seems so much in his own little world.

CNN recently had an opinion piece describing Trump as the star and director of the "American President" TV show, with all of the other people around him being treated as either co-stars or human props.

A beleaguered Donald Trump needed an idea for the next episode of his tragic television series, American President. Protesters riled by the death of George Floyd, a black man whose killing by police was caught on camera, were massing in cities across the country. The world knew that when protesters gathered near the White House last week, Trump had briefly been taken to shelter in a bunker. He had looked weak and this would not do.
Encouraged by one of his co-stars, his daughter Ivanka, he decided to demonstrate he was in command by leaving fortress White House and striding to a nearby Episcopal church -- historic St. John's -- where a small fire set by protesters had done damage to the basement. Cameras could capture the action as Trump struck a defiant pose -- church and state joined in one man -- to please his Christian Right base. (For Trump, who admires the movie version of General George Patton, all that was missing from his effort to evoke Old Blood and Guts was a uniform and swagger stick.)

I will be doing a News Conference at 10:00 A.M. on the Jobs Numbers! White House.

Congratulations to wonderful Charles Payne on having been so optimistic, and therefore correct. Market up BIG!!!

Oh no, the Dems are worried again. The only one that can kill this comeback is Sleepy Joe Biden!

It’s a stupendous number. It’s joyous, let’s call it like it is. The Market was right. It’s stunning!

THE NUMBERS ARE INCREDIBLE!”

"Yes Mr. President they are, but that's not usually the reaction we want when our patients have a cholesterol level this high..."

The hilarious part is that it's Trump's strongman wannabe dictator image that makes these things embarrassing in the first place. Had it been Obama, he could've just said "yeah, there were demonstrations outside the White House, so Secret Service turned off the lights and adviced us to go to the underground bunker. This is routine for situations like these."

I know from reading Michelle Obama's book just how seriously Secret Service takes their job, and it was a tense situation. Numerous Secret Service agents were wounded (wasn't the number 20?), and it really only takes one person getting through and then forcing a door, and you have a pretty bad situation on your hands. They take the measures they take to minimize the chance of such things happening.

So, with Bush or Obama, I imagine we wouldn't have cared. We'd have taken the lights going out, and POTUS being taken to the bunker, as a kind of illustration of just how grave the situation was.

With strongman Trump, though? When he hides in a bunker, suddenly it's humiliating. Suddenly he needs to do damage control. Which, given his child brain, amounts to "inspecting the bunker", which just made everything worse, and even more entertaining.

It's like when they couldn't find a good way for him to make it to the WWI centennial. With another president, we could easily have thought of it as POTUS sadly not being able to show because they couldn't make the neccessary security arrangements. Maybe we'd discuss whether the measures were neccessary, or if the security staff was overdoing it, but I don't know if we'd blame Obama. Bush being a "war pres'dent", who posed in military uniform and visited an aircraft carrier to make his Mission Accomplished speech, maybe, but I think I'd still be understanding.

With Trump, though, the narrative became that Trump chose not to go because it was raining. He's a fierce and fearless dictator, he can't skip something because of a bit of rain.

I'm willing to bet that in the distant past, and probably in the near future, Trump will accuse someone else of peeing Trump's pants.

Oh, a bit uptight are we? I thought perhaps someone knew off hand, someone more up to date then I am. It was a casual question. Your accusing me of doing "fetch quests" is, I believe, unnecessary, a bit harsh, and a lot silly.

Quite harsh. Personally, I have the copy-pasta on ignore here, so I don't have to read it and try to figure out who said what. Also, about half the time someone posts a tweet here, when I click it, I get twitter.com asking me to log in. I don't know, sometimes tweets seem visible on the web, and sometimes not.
