Oh, I wouldn't be surprised if he didn't. I just raised an eyebrow at him dragging his doctor into it.

Edit: The White House Director of Strategic Communications has just confirmed that yes, trump has been prescribed hydroxychloroquine, and yes, trump has been taking it.

Exactly. This is exactly the kind of thing Trump would say for effect. By naming his Doctor he's looking for cover.

Either you lie to back up the liar or your fired.

But the flip side of this is this is the kind of thing that could cause you to lose your medical license.

We all know what happens to people who displease or contradict Trump. But this should come as no surprise to anyone who agrees to work at the WH. I keep picturing Dr. Dennison as Anthony in the "It's a Good Life" episode of The Twilight Zone.

Seriously, what kind of Doctor would give someone a medication that is unapproved to someone who has no reason to take it and particularly if that person is the President of the United States?

Imagine if Trump had a reaction to this drug? How the hell does the Doctor CYA if he killed POTUS or made him gravely ill? Whose brilliant idea was it for him to take this drug? Turning the President into a Guinea pig? Seriously?

And even if Trump wanted the drug, what responsible doctor in his right mind would give it to him?

I don’t think it’s seen as a heinous offense. Prescribing drugs for “off-label” use is fairly common. However the side effects aren’t to be taken lightly.

Something is very weird here. Dr. Sean Conley is the WH physician. The memo that was released purportedly confirming that Trump is taking hydrochloroquine was not a Dr. Dennison, but Sean Conley. Additionally, in that memo Conley does not confirm that Trump is taking the drug. He only says he had

Notice how carefully worded that is. It implies that Trump is taking the drug, but never says that. What he's actually saying is that at some unspecified time he discussed the drug with Trump.

A spokesperson for the president confirmed to New York Times reporter Maggie Haberman that Trump began taking hydroxychloroquine. When asked about the memo by Insider, the White House declined to elaborate.

A regular guy doctor is obviously someone who can be trusted more than experts in the relevant fields, I suppose.

Firing someone - depriving them of their livelihood and reputation - without knowing why or anything about them, just because someone asked you to, is "not important"?
