......These guys only had to follow the man on foot in their vehicle until the cops they had already called arrived who could take over the scene. Travis should never have exited the vehicle with a firearm.

There is really no evidence that the McMichaels called the cops. When Greg McMichael called 911 he claimed he didn't know which street he was on and said nothing else for about three minutes then the phone hang up.

Why would they call the cops when Greg himself was once a cop and both were armed?
Prediction: The McMichaels will either have all charges beaten down to some manslaughter type charge and will either be tried for that or will plead guilty to it. If a trial goes forth, I have no prediction of the verdict - depends on jury selection.

My prediction. Greg McMichael and his son get life without parole.

More argument from incredulity. I’ve run marathons and have completed many long distance training runs. I avoid carrying water because water is heavy. Instead I ran courses where I knew drinking water was available, including gas stations and parks. I even probably trespassed to get a drink.

So, yes, nothing unusual there.

Unless you returned to any of those places later by vehicle instead of running to refresh yourself?

Tell me what straw at which I’m clutching.

To copy Bob, if he was there, so what?

And the clutching at straws is people going to incredible lengths to prove Arbery did.......... something or other. Why are people doing this other than to come up with some excuse for his murder? What is the relevance of him being at the building site at night? In case you are not up to speed, the owner of that site has stated that nothing had been stolen and that he did not tell anyone to pursue “trespassers”.

1/ Who says so? 2/ If true, so what?

1. Perez, the man whom English texted on Feb 11 says so. Said he went to the body on the 23rd and said it was the same guy from the 11th.

2. If he was just drinking water from a running jog, why was he there in a vehicle? To get another drink?

That does not excuse the shooting incident but I just don’t buy the water story.

If he was only alive to explain this utterly irrelevant event....

Again, people are spinning Arbery’s behaviour in order to discredit him. Why are people doing this? I have a few ideas.

I’ve done a lot of running and spent a lot of time with other runners. I’ve never taken a cellphone with me and I’ve never seen a fellow runner with one. These were serious runners as Arbery was reported to be. Why do you need a cellphone on a run? For me and many runners it is a perfect opportunity not to carry a phone.

Indeed, I never carry a cellphone when running. Beside the fact that is too much of a hindrance, one of the whole ideas of going out for a jog is getting away from the madhouse - who want to be contactable when out running - maybe a doctor?

First off, show me wherever I said Arbery committed a crime other than his obvious trespassing which everyone now has taken for granted.

Start with that while I work on my next retort to you.

I am not condoning his killing at all. It was at the least 3 people who made tragic mistakes all at the same time, the mistakes by the McMichaels being the worst. Arbery made the mistake by repeatedly returning to the site.

I'm just saying I don't buy the water story. Something wrong with that? Do you have a theory?

1. Perez, the man whom English texted on Feb 11 says so. Said he went to the body on the 23rd and said it was the same guy from the 11th.

I wouldn't expect Perez to say that his friends and neighbors [the McMichaels] killed the wrong guy. Once the guy is dead it is very convenient to say it was the same guy.

2. If he was just drinking water from a running jog, why was he there in a vehicle? To get another drink?

When was he there in a vehicle? The owner of the house has already stated nothing was taken from the house at anytime.

I don’t have a theory for him being at the site. Nor for the time when he was nasty to his mother. Why should I have theories for things that are irrelevant to his murder?

I do, however, have a theory about people who go to great lengths to discredit a black murder victim.

First off, show me wherever I said Arbery committed a crime other than his obvious trespassing which everyone now has taken for granted.

Just going to point this out again because it's only been about 30 pages since it was posted. Criminal Trespass in Georgia requires that damage is done, the person is there with unlawful intent, or that the owner of the property has told the person in question to leave. Since we know that the first and last of these didn't happen, and there is no evidence of the second, then Arbery was committing no crime by being on the property.

Yeah, do me this one too. Who in this thread said Arbery was a violent criminal who deserved to die?

while I'm not going to go back and read all his racist ramblings, I am pretty sure that some of Skeptic Tank's posts get pretty close to that line.

I don't buy the story that Arbery is the same guy who was there on the night of 11th Feb. 20.

If Arbery was there in the night of the 11 Feb. and was chased away it makes no sense for him to come back in the middle of the day [1.00 pm] walking into the very same house when he could be easily identified.

In the day time it would be possible that there could be someone already on the premises, perhaps a contractor or someone unknown to Arbery.

I believe they killed the wrong guy.

Indeed, but there are others who, while they don’t go that far, think that the McMasters did little wrong.
