CBS news tonight has videos of other people wandering through the building site, including children and a white couple, uneventfully on the same day as the killing. Owner says he never called McMichael about the property.

This fact will, of course, be ignored by the “violent criminal deserved to die” crowd.

Yes, but what about their hairstyles?

It's amusing that some racist operate as if it's only reasonable to behave as if any black guy is a criminal and any white guy with a gun should be differed to as if they were a cop.

'How did Arbery know they weren't cops stopping him?' Well how did the murderers know Arbery wasn't an off duty cop? Why is it reasonable to blame Arbery for not behaving as if the gun brandishing clownshoes have the legal authority to detain him, but unreasonable for the asshats to assume that Arbery had the legal authority to be there?

I mean, I know the answer, but I don't think a lot of the racists know their reasoning is as racist as it is.

It doesn't help that these racist goons could also just, you know, chase him in their truck, thus giving them an enormous speed advantage if he did run.

On the one hand, Arbery only tried to flee twice before apparently making a stand. On the other hand both trucks and bullets are far faster than Arbery, and the killers have demonstrated that they were willing to use both against him. Yeah, let's hash out whether Arbery should have tried to outrun pickups and bullets more than the twice it had failed previously. Any way to try to cast blame on the murder victim, after all I heard his haircut was scary.

Oh deary me, that is really going to collapse the racists' narrative isn't it!

"'It now appears that this young man may have been coming onto the property for water,' J. Elizabeth Graddy, the attorney for homeowner Larry English, said in a statement. 'There is a water source at the dock behind the house as well as a source near the front of the structure.

'Although these water sources do not appear within any of the cameras´ frames, the young man moves to and from their locations.'"

Penalty for a black man pinching a drink of water - death!
Penalty for white people and kids pinching a drink of water - nothing to see here folks, move along.

By the way, are there any reports that Arbery had a cellphone because it may be able to help trace his whereabouts on the 11th and 23 Feb. 20.

I haven't seen any reports, but of course it's almost certain he had a cellphone. Who doesn't these days? I think there is still a lot of new information that will come out on this case. Stay tuned.

I’ve done a lot of running and spent a lot of time with other runners. I’ve never taken a cellphone with me and I’ve never seen a fellow runner with one. These were serious runners as Arbery was reported to be. Why do you need a cellphone on a run? For me and many runners it is a perfect opportunity not to carry a phone.

I have seen a few, most of them have them strapped to their arm with headphones in. I assume that they are listening to music as they run.

Been thinking about this all day, the jogger who told his mother he went for a jog every day (whether in daylight or darkness) in a neighborhood in which he did not live (which is not a crime) and from this past October had been videoed several times in a house under construction but never took anything but it was assumed that maybe he was drinking water there since, as an experienced jogger, he didn’t carry his own water but was savvy enough to know that the water was turned on at this site and he could refresh himself there without the burden of toting one’s own bottle and apparently this water was so refreshing or delicious that at one point he even returned after dark (February 11) in a vehicle to slake his thirst.

Nothing unusual there.

I will add this. The guys in the pickup were dead wrong and the elder one should have known better. I believe he missed more POST classes than have been reported. These guys only had to follow the man on foot in their vehicle until the cops they had already called arrived who could take over the scene. Travis should never have exited the vehicle with a firearm.

Prediction: The McMichaels will either have all charges beaten down to some manslaughter type charge and will either be tried for that or will plead guilty to it. If a trial goes forth, I have no prediction of the verdict - depends on jury selection.

Sure some do, but many don’t, and I do not accept the assumption “of course he carried one”. Of course, he was also carrying a hammer (according to one here) so adding a cellphone is not a big stretch....

I used to carry my phone all the time (at least in my amphipod). I don't carry it with me on training runs any more, because I can listen to music through my Fitbit watch. However, I do carry my phone in races. Either way, I also track my movements on Strava, as do probably 80% of those I run with.

When I run with the local running club, maybe half carry their phones, and the other half use gps watches.

Phones are convenient in running because they can both provide music and tracking with something like MapMyRun. That is the advantage over the ipod

More argument from incredulity. I’ve run marathons and have completed many long distance training runs. I avoid carrying water because water is heavy. Instead I ran courses where I knew drinking water was available, including gas stations and parks. I even probably trespassed to get a drink.

So, yes, nothing unusual there.

Thanks. In my experience, people checking out construction sites out of curiosity is quite common. My wife and I have done it numerous times.

Possible. But I don't think Arbery was out for that type of run as I've mentioned before. When I go for a run right from my house I sometimes don't take my phone because I know I won't need it for anything but music, and it's tough to carry.

Arbery didn't look like he was on a serious run to me. He was walking when he arrived at the construction site and it didn't look like he had been running for a while. But I could be wrong.

In either case, I'm pretty sure he had a cellphone, and that would tell us.
