Trump lies and says models that show US coronavirus deaths increasing in coming weeks are based on "no mitigation," which is not the case. They are based on the relaxation of mitigation that he has been championing.

Pence must have seen these briefing memos. Pence must have known the **** was coming down the road. How come he didn’t do anything?

Was he so afraid of President Trump that he thought letting 100,000 Americans die was a better option that confronting the president?

That begs the question, is it possible for POTUS to fire his vice president? In Trump's case, to have his lowly subordinate criticize him, perhaps even publicly, and chuck him as VP and then write a Tweet about how he didn't know the man and that he was very lazy and only brought Trump coffee?

If you'd asked me three years ago to predict how well Trump would respond to various types of crises, "Epidemic or Pandemic" would have unquestionably been at the top of the list. It's the one type of crisis wherein at least one of his personal flaws should have pushed him to do the right thing. The first time someone told him that a virus was coming to get him from CHY-na, he should have mobilized every single thing the US could mobilize to fight it.

It should have been a germaphobe's Dream Come True:

  4. Sanitize everything!

Depends on the nature of it. Trump told a story, long ago, about a guy falling down and bleeding in front of him and that his response was effectively to flee, rather than to help. Sure, not liking blood is something, much like not liking germs is something. Trying to make it disappear from one's sight, rather than making it disappear from reality seems to be Trump's gut's way to handle things. That kind of behavior is also known as "cowardly."

No, the President can't fire the VP. He can, however, drop him from the 2020 ticket, trash talk him, and remove him from having any function other than breaking ties in the Senate during the remainder of his term.

No, it's not. He could request that the Veep resign, but hasn't the authority to fire him. What he CAN do is have a different running mate nominated at his party's convention. But it's a moot point; Pence will remain loyal.

Yes, yes, lots of people don't like him, too. But as good as it feels to vent, the "not MY president" thing comes across like a toddler stamping her foot screaming "you're not my mommy!" because she didn't get ice cream.
 
I refuse to do it, too, because I know too many people who are still "not MY president" for Obama. They were ridiculous then, they're ridiculous now, and I'm not joining them by being ridiculous myself.
