Biden for President?

Despite not toeing the company line and proclaiming that Reade is a lying, attention craving weirdo, the sexual assault allegation against Biden doesn't really change my stance on him.

The best argument for Joe remains unshaken. He is the lesser of two evils.

Seems like the Biden Bros never really put much faith in that argument, despite brow-beating progressives with it with fervor. The Biden allegation is revealing that the "lesser of two evils" argument generally sucks and people don't like it.

RIP dreams of addressing gross class inequality and a fairer society. The DP - bringing back decorum and the face of competence to the same old racket.

Babysteps, not giant leaps.

What your attitude leads to is giant leaps in the opposite direction.

Does anyone else find it odd that about the time Reade's appearance on the stage coincides with a rather dramatic change of heart about Putin and Putin's Russia? In 2015 I would have dismissed this as a conspiracy theory.

How did all of Biden's opponents and the Obama VP selection team miss this? Now a newly converted Putin supporter suddenly makes allegations? Putin backed Trump once already and hacked Clinton's e-mail to do it.

Connect the dots, sheeple.

Yeah can’t rush these things and you gotta be polite.

No, you can rush them. You just can't rush them if a majority of the population doesn't want to rush them. Right now it's a matter of evicting the fascist in the White House. That takes precedence over your quibbles, I'm afraid.

Let's assume Joe wins in 2020 and Trump is removed.

Do you think that's the end of the nascent authoritarian-right ideology here in the US?

The way you describe the unique danger of Trump, it seems you think his rise to power was some anomaly and not the result of a growing interest far-right ideology in the US (and abroad).

I think a Biden victory is one very likely to turn to ashes in the mouths of liberals. Looking forward to an even more cartoonishly authoritarian Trump running for a non-consecutive term in 2024. Or worse, a competent ghoul like Tom Cotton or Crenshaw running on a "Nuke China" platform or some other nightmare.

We are running out of time for the liberals to figure out that status quo isn't cutting it. The right wing is already making headway harnessing popular unrest to radicalize the population. The libs need to figure out a reasonable foil to this before it is too late. A hint, Joe Biden isn't that foil.

Trump is a unique and immediate danger. Failure to remove him now will have dire consequences.

That's a possibility. Another possibility is that Biden with a Democratic House and Senate manages to adress some of the systematic advantages the GOP enjoys, and that future elections will better reflect the majority opinion.

I agree. Bernie isn't that foil either. What you are talking about cannot be achieved easily or by any single person. It's a group effort that takes time, and step one must be to take back control of the system. Otherwise you cannot make changes to the system.

Quibbles?
