What is so ridiculous to me is, the anti-stay at home protesters show up to demonstrate in front of a medical center (which stinks to begin with). The media is there. Two people come out from the medical center in scrubs to counter the protest and the media films/photographs them. To try and discredit them -- as though no health professional could possibly be opposed to the demonstrators -- the pro-go back to work advocates like Kelli Ward allege the media didn't care the so-called health care workers were probably imposters.

As though a film crew is supposed to 'demand' proof the health care workers actually are health care workers before filming them counter-protesting.

The worst part is, as some of the Arizona media has alleged, Ward is a doctor, she knows she can't 'win' the argument citing sound medical practices. Her only shot is to allege something ridiculous like the health care workers are imposters. That's an 'argument' that is only going to work with her base. Anyone else with any common sense is going to dismiss it as nonsensical.

It looks increasingly like the Republicans have given up trying to win anyone over, and is instead just trying desperately to hang on to their supporters by making appeals to their fears and emotions. At a time like this?

It really stinks. :(

This particular film crew DID check out the IDs of the protesters and did their research in public nursing records. All the nurses they interviewed were who they said they were and were nurses in good standing.

Kelli Ward is a POS. If I remember correctly, she is the one that pushed for a party censure of either McCain or Flake.

With all the talk about lockdown protests, I thought you might like to be reminded of what some of the protestors are actually saying - this is from a lockdown protest in Sacramento, California a week ago

Health care staff at Valley View Center for Nursing Care and Rehabilitation in Goshen NY last Friday. They are cheering the release of 85-year-old Marcia Clawson last Friday. Clawson had been admitted on March 25th after testing positive for COVID-19.

Probably paid actors? :(

"We're not going to put a dollar figure on human life," [New York Governor Andrew] Cuomo said about President Trump's proposed return to normal life to help the economy, which could result in more people getting sick. While promoting continued social distancing, Cuomo also promoted unity. "New York loves everyone...Love wins, always. And it will win again through this virus," he said. Link

Kentucky governor Beshear apologizes after Tupac Shakur "prank" accusation

“We had somebody apply for unemployment for Tupac Shakur here in Kentucky,” Beshear said at a press briefing Monday evening. “And that person may have thought they were being funny, they probably did. Except for the fact that because of them, we had to go through so many other claims.”

But the man in question is actually named Tupac Malik Shakur. A Lexington resident, he goes by Malik and worked as a cook at a restaurant that closed due to the coronavirus pandemic.

“I’m hurt, I’m really embarrassed and I’m shocked,” Shakur told the Lexington Herald-Leader on Monday. “He needs to apologize. That’s just my name.”

Shakur said he applied for unemployment March 13, receiving his letter of monetary determination four days later, but that he has been waiting for the money ever since. “I’ve been struggling for like the last month to figure out how to pay the bills,” he told the newspaper.

Heh.

If it was for an interview I would expect a reputable news service would make sure the people being interviewed are really who they say they are. I think Kelli Ward was also referring to photos or video shot of persons in hospital gear standing in front of protesters cars.

She really is despicable. Below is a news story from USA Today published in August 2018 when Ward was campaigning for the U.S. Senate:
Two days after U.S. Sen. John McCain's death following a 13-month battle with brain cancer, Republican candidate for U.S. Senate Kelli Ward has compared "political correctness" to cancer. Ward posted the remark on Twitter early Monday amid intense criticism of another one of her social media posts from Saturday. In that post, Ward insinuated that the announcement from the McCain family that he was ending medical treatment was timed to hurt her candidacy. In the final stretch of the primary race, Ward was on a "Road to Victory" bus tour and was hoping to make positive headlines of her own. USA Today

That led to some pushback from GOP strategist Rick Wilson, who condemned her and her supporters.
"Once again, a national reminder that Kelli Ward is a trash person supported by trash people," Wilson wrote.

Now she's the Arizona Republican chairperson. Nasty bunch of people. :(

I discovered the photos and video in Denver I saw were shot by two freelancers. They did not have an opportunity to speak with counter-demonstrators as seemed logical.
Responding to accusations that she had personally staged the photos, Alyson McClaran said, "Absolutely, I did not." She said she did not know if the two counterprotesters were actually health care workers. BuzzFeed News has been unable to independently verify if they were employed at any local hospitals. "I believe that they are, but regardless of who they are, it's more about the message they were sending," McClaran said. Link

The driver of another vehicle even bumped the front of his car against the man in the scrubs and began yelling at him, McClaran said. "He was just really angry," she said.

(I hope this is the best forum for posting this article.)

This article, discussing the use of dogs in virus detection for the covid strain, does not surprise me. For years some members of my family have had therapy dogs that did things like alerting a person that a seizure was coming soon. My mothers incredibly stupid dog alerted her to early breast cancer.

Now, they have determined that this virus has a distant but distinct smell. One that we humans can't detect, but some dogs have proven their ability to not only smell the odor but then alert their 'person'.

No idea how far this will go, nor how helpful in the end, but it made me feel better after reading and thinking of the future possibilities.

These days I appreciate anything that provides a hopeful new moment.

Trumpanzees are still crowing about how Sweden is doing fine by doing nothing..........

They're already on sale.

Classic sleazy marketing trick. Overprice them to begin with, then convince the rubes that the "sale" price is a really good deal. "At that price we should buy two!"

Is anyone surprised that Trump's Whitehouse is following the Sleazy Marketing Playbook? Anyone?

His apology shows weakness, no wonder he's a Democrat. Real leaders never admit their mistakes and lie that it never happened.

Uh? I mean, excuse me, but it shows weakness? We seem to have different dictionaries or something.

Here, after my many years of observation and learning, I always believed something for many years, and still do. It is written in my Wasapi Journal.

Rule #37: Wasapi says people who are willing to take responsibility for their misdeeds and not blame others are incredibly strong people.
