If he was invited, I would be willing to bet it was a pro forma invitation, maybe even issued before the current crisis. I suspect the Commander in Chief would be routinely invited to all of the military academy commencements. That doesn't mean he has to go, or that anyone expects him to.
 
The President lurched through some prepared remarks where he touted his puffed up response statistics. Now CEOs of companies are coming to the podium to give glowing reviews of their own efforts.

Because there is a double standard in USA politics. If Republicans do such things, it's okay.

Consider that the leaders of Spain, Sweden, Germany, the Netherlands and Italy (!) have experienced double-digit increases in their approval ratings.

Trump: There has been so much unnecessary death in this country. It could have been stopped and it could have been stopped short but somebody a long time ago it seems decided not to do it that way. And the whole world is suffering because of it. One hundred and eighty-four countries at least.

Wow. China is at fault for not being open about the virus, but Trump is removing any blame for the deaths in this country from himself.

ETA: Will someone please inform the Idiot in Chief that the Spanish flu started in 1918 not 1917? He keeps repeating 1917 over and over. Such a simple fact to remember.

The "3 phase" model of opening up is two phases of expanding testing (descriptive language, didn't see any hard numbers) and then the third phase is open up.

Kinda seems like a 1 phase model that can be declared completed or not on a whim.

The new GOP talking point is "The Chinese Communist Leaders made a conscious choice to hide the truth about the virus".

What they don't mention is that this is exactly why the US has intelligence services whose job it is to find out the truth when other governments are lying. Too bad Trump made a conscious decision to ignore the output of those intelligence services.

Asked why Azar, the head of HHS, was still in his position after telling Americans to just go about their lives as normal at the end of January, Trump said it was an unfair question because lots of people got it wrong. Nancy Pelosi was telling "people to party in the streets" in San Fran. Ummmmm...Pelosi isn't the head of HHS. Nothing like making it political, Numb Nuts.

When asked if he believes the Dems are inflating the mortality rate as he tweeted yesterday, he danced around the question and never answered it.
