This is from yesterday, and there's something here that I just cannot wrap my mind around (assuming I'm interpreting Trump correctly, which is always iffy):
Pence dodged the question, apparently by praising the great job insurance companies are doing, even though the question was about people who
don't have insurance- so Trump steps in:
Here's the part that gets me:
Seriously? Is Trump so confident in his ability to re-write plain history (or his followers' willingness to let him) that he can really suggest that Democrats have never suggested some sort of program to address a lack of health insurance coverage for Americans who have none? Even if he just means that Democrats haven't said anything specific about it in the context of the Coronavirus pandemic- do they really
need to? It's the same problem it has always been, just exacerbated; and to suggest that the "other group" won't "get to" addressing a problem they've had as a central policy theme for years, and "haven't even spoken about it"- that's just flabbergasting to me.
