Biden for President?

Okay so the existence of any given trope doesn't tell us whether someone is telling the truth or not, we have to consider each claim independently.

So, how about this one?

Reade said she didn’t consider the acts toward her sexualization. She instead compared her experience to being a lamp.

I'd say there is a world of difference between being objectified like lamp and objectified like a sex doll, but as theprestige has already noted, I've some difficulties with idiomatic English.

The guy with various videos showing creepy body language towards girls has a sexual assault allegation against him backed by family members who said they were told about it at the time. Shocking.

We had 20+ candidates, several of which were good options. Congrats on your ****** pick centrist dems. He was Obama VP and the media just repeated he was electable over and over for a year so you went with it. When Trump wins you have no one to blame but yourselves.

Agreed. Wouldn't it have been nice if we had been told this earlier? Like 3 months ago maybe?

I mentioned earlier that I would have preferred almost anyone else other than Biden. I would have been fine with Buttigieg or Klobuchar or Harris or Booker or even Steve Bullock.

But those candidates all dropped out of the race before these allegations against Biden were made. Curious, that. Furthermore, the allegations weren't made until Biden had already amassed more than half the delegates needed to secure the nomination, and his nomination at this point is almost inevitable, based on delegate math.

I would have been much more willing to believe what she was saying 3 months ago than I am now. Now, sorry: Too late I say. You should have told us earlier. Unless, that is, your real goal is actually to sabotage the Democratic nominee apparent to benefit Trump. Then, in that case, the timing makes perfect sense.

Allegations were made in April but didn't gain traction, then got stalled as the Times Up campaign wasted her time before telling her they wouldn't help. I don't know why the bigger news outlets had no interest in covering it before now.

The other allegations about Biden being a handsy weirdo with women have always been around.

Not these allegations.

Biden's a crap pick anyway, regardless of allegations. As would Bernie be.

C'mon Dems couldn't you have picked someone who's not nearly dead and doesn't have an obvious attack point for the Republicans (handsie and old versus commie* and old)?

*Not that I'd call Bernie a commie but you know that's what would happen and there's enough ammo there to make it easy for Trump.

Geez, it's not like you had a high bar to get over versus Trump but you seem determined to level the field.

It's almost as if reporters would have interviewed her, they might have got more information.

Who knows. It's not relevant. The allegations she went public with last April were not particularly earthshaking, so people collectively shrugged and ignored them. Now she's upped the ante by adding a new allegation. It's too late in the process to switch horses now. She knew that or should have known that. The only conceivable reason for waiting until halfway through the nomination process is to do maximum damage to the Democratic Party. To help you know who win reelection. She is an agent of Trump or someone who really wants to see Trump reelected.

Much the same was said about Ford when she attacked Kavanaugh.

I don't care. Let's not be naive here. This may be revenge for Kavanaugh.

Or just a minion of Putin making mischief. Did you notice all the lavish praise she has for him?

Did you really think that the Russians would sit this one out?

But, to agree with some posters I'm normally a million miles from, these sort of rumours have been out there for years. The most innocent being that he, shall we say, lacks a good sense of personal space when it comes to the ladies.

Again, why make it so easy for the Republican propaganda machine and why so old? I can see the need for some experience but these people should be long retired.

He isn't my pick. I would have picked someone else. Even Bernie. But he is the pick of a majority of democratic primary voters so far, so I have no choice in the matter, nor does anyone else here. He's the nominee apparent we have, not the one we want.

We all have to make peace with that unless you want 4 more years of Trump. By all means, go out and vote for Bernie if you still have a chance but it's pretty unlikely that anyone else will be the nominee. So sooner or later we'll all have to get used to it.

Ok, for the sake of argument, let's say she's some bad faith accuser.

What's the best way to deal with this? It isn't going away. CNN and MSNBC might be happy to ignore this, but you better believe that Fox News and others are going to pick it up and run with it during the general election.

The only way out is through. Investigate the claims now, exhaustively. The truth will set us free.

Sure, investigate it to your heart's content. Follow the link I posted in #1144 for starters. Those guys found some pretty interesting stuff. Nothing that can either prove or disprove it conclusively though. And as long as she sticks to her story, it'll likely never be proven or disproven either way. That's just the way it's going to be in all likelihood.

None of this matters anyway. Look at the best possible scenario for the Democrats: they completely succeed in making this go away with exactly the same behavior that they call "misogyny" when Republicans do it (possibly with a touch of despising the peasants too if she's poor enough for them to trot on a repeat of "drag a dollar bill through a trailer park and see what you can catch" like last time), and a couple of weeks from now it's as if she never existed.

Then we're still stuck with Hillary II, which makes him Kerry III, which makes him Gore IV, which makes him Dukakis V, which makes him Mondale VI... only worse because instead of merely not fighting hard enough to make things better, he keeps openly admitting his disdain for large chunks of the voter base and how determined he is to continue working against us and maintain the slide this country's on... when he can manage to make it through an appearance without his brain stopping for a few "Program Not Responding" glitches that really really somehow don't mean anything. And the only argument anybody will have ever made for ignoring all that will still be what it's been all along so far: just another round of fear-mongering over "Republicans are worse than Democrats and he's the Democrat (the only one in the whole country)", right after having made themselves look just the same as Republicans by the methods they used to get rid of that horrible nasty woman.

Congratulations, Biden supporters. This is what YOU **** forth upon us. Whether you knew it or not in the face of the constant repetitions of the transparent "ELECTABLE!!!!" myth from the oligarchs, you've been pushing hard for a continuation of Trump, and now you're on the way to getting what you've been pushing for.

Well, I'm not a Biden supporter, just a "blue no matter who" supporter. I would not have chosen Biden if it were up to me. But it ain't.

It may be. but even if it were to come out that she was a rabid Trump supporter, I'm not sure how much that would matter. The Democrats have pretty much went all in on the "believe all women", so many of them will have some awkward explaining to do if they don't believe this one. But in the end, this will not get much coverage on the alphabet networks.

Fox News will notice this and go crazy. As long as the claims are not proven to be false, they'll run with it.
